Metallica Expected To Announce U.S. Dates With Megadeth, Anthrax And Slayer Soon

Band Photo: Metallica (?)
The "Big Four" of thrash metal, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer, are expected to make an announcement shortly regarding tour dates in the United States of America. More information is expected to be made available tomorrow, but in the meantime, a Facebook page for the event has been set up here.
The four bands made history last year by performing several legs of the European festival, Sonisphere, which culminated in the DVD release, "The Big Four: Life From Sofia, Bulgaria," which featured footage of all four bands, along with the massive collaboration which saw members of Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer's Dave Lombardo perform a cover of the Diamond Head classic, "Am I Evil?"

This holds no interest for me. I've seen them all in their prime and most likely for a lot less $$ then what they will be charging this time around. All of the vocalists on this tour have lost it in my opinion. Watching the DVD was painful at times thinking about how they used to kick so much a$$ and now Araya wouldn't even attempt the screaming parts. I know they are all older now and that comes with the territory but I'll be damned if I'm going to shell out $100+ to see what's left of my metal heroes. I'll stick with the memories.

Saw Slayer, Megadeth + Testament last summer and Slayer, Megadeth, + Anthrax last October. Never at any point did I feel a rendition of "Fuel" or "Enter Sadman" were missing from the concert. It enough of my friends go I may tag along and leave before Metaliica, but that is a big maybe.

I've seen all these bands too.
I think it would be ok to see them all together.
Last time I seen Slayer, they were boring comparied to 3 years ago. When I seen them 3 years ago, they hade drive to be that awesome 80's thrash metal band. But now, they seem to be taking the back seat. The only band worth seeing always on this tour is Megadeth. Even tho Dave's voice is shot they still out perform all these bands.

I graduated from high school in 86. Metals watershed year imo. Saw all these bands in 85 86 87 so I'm not so excited about this. Will def be at stadiums and high priced. All these bands have lost quite a bit due to their advanced ages. Ill stay away and hold on to my memories of these guys performing master of puppets reign in blood peace sells when they first came.

it would be pretty cool if they brought this to the rest of the world but i really cant see that happening...i think i need to move continents... as for the metallica haters, although i do see your point in being frustrated at this band, they are in such good form at the moment compared to recent years, i personally thought their energy level was so much higher on the recent tour but thats just me. the only real letdown was lars' drumming is not even close to what it used to be. megadeth always kick a$$ and cmon people, slayer are still amazing live so lets all just treat this as good news eh? as for anthrax, they deserve so much more credit for what they do they are the riff masters!

Don't understand all the gate Metallica is getting. Yes their stuff released in the last 20 years leaves little to be desired but their first 4 albums have def stood the test of time. Will Emmure or Winds of Plague be remembered 4 anything 25 yrs from now?will people be begging Periphery to play their album in its entirety 20 yrs from now?
