Most Precious Blood Drummer Missing

Most Precious Blood have checked in with a very disturbing, and slighty upsetting journal entry about their drummer Sean. He has left the band, and is currently - missing..

"Hello from Phoenix, Arizona. Sean hurt his back in Buffalo the other night and over the next few days became uncertain about his ability to play any further shows. Apparently his back injury, sustained while playing drums, was serious. How serious, we do not know. He went to a chiropractor who told him his back was swelled and that he should take off at least a month of playing shows in order to rest. We have no idea what kind of injury could be this serious just from playing the drums, but apparently it was serious enough to warrant his leaving the band. The fine people doing Axtion Fest paid for 5 tickets to get us out here to play. We didn't want to cancel the show so we started thinking of fill-ins. Unfortunately, you cannot change the name on a plane ticket so we were stuck. It was either Sean or no drummer at all. For a moment we even thought of buying a $500 new ticket on our own dime for our friend Billy who's filled in for us before. But at the eleventh hour Sean finally agreed to come play Axtion Fest. Sean reluctantly said he would play this show for us, 20 minutes of his time, and then he could take off for as long as he needed to recover from his injury. We weren't being callous to his injuries; we just thought him coming to play the show would be the right thing to do. This way we'd have time to secure a temporary replacement and he'd have time to rest up. If it were any other show, we would've canceled it without a second thought. A band member is in pain, we don't play the show. Obviously someones health is more important than a show but this was an extenuating cicrumstance I think. It wasn't just a show up the street, but a show where other people had interests in, and money on the line. If we don't come, the dude loses all the money and thats fucked. We would feel awful and also look like a bunch of assholes. These dudes went out of their way to get us out here to play so we owed it to them to fucking be there. That was the plan. So Rachel and I dropped off our new CD to our friend Billy, so he could learn the new stuff in time for the shows in November AFTER Axtion Fest. Everything seemed cool. So I pick up Sean and bring him to Brooklyn. He didn't say a word the entire drive. At the house he finally opened up with Rob and Matt and they talked well into the early morning for several hours. Discussing, his injury and some other emotional issues that Sean has been dealing with. We all have our demons, sure, but somehow Sean's injury became psychosomatic and related to his emotional demons. So they talked and everything seemed to be cool. Sean agreed he'd play the show. Matt gave him some Nyquil so he could sleep on the flight. This was about 4:30 am. Our alarm went off at 6am. I was in the shower when Rachel knocks on the door and says "Sean is gone". Sean had snuck out of my house in the middle of night and left a Dear John note on our van stating that he could no longer play music and that we could sell his drums if we had to pay any of his outstanding debts. Now we have NEVER been a band to air our dirty laundry in public but this really blew our minds. I never expected this from Sean in a million years. We wanted to explain the whole story so that there wouldn't be any room for rumours. So we're here in Arizona and Mike from Where Eagles Dare is going to fill in for us at the show tmrw. We haven't jammed with him yet so we'll see how it goes. This is hardcore, so fuck it. We're here and we'll make this work. All our touring plans for November and beyond will still continue as planned. We will not even pause. Thanks for coming here for the scoop. And to Sean, I wish it didn't have to end this way. I always knew you as a stand up guy, and the way you left us was the ultimate in cowardice. I never expected this Hollywood ending from you. I hope you can work out your emotional demons and I sincerely hope you find peace. Sincerely- Most Precious Blood"
