Sydney's "Black Mass" Festival Cancelled Due To Religious Protest

Metal Obsession reports that a Sydney-based religious group on Facebook has seemingly successfully protested against the running of a Black metal mini-festival at Sydney venue Newtown RSL. It is understood that the venue pulled out from the event, and the promoter, Séance Records, has currently postponed the event until another date/venue can be found.
The protesting Facebook group has the following statement as their description, on a profile that has limited public content available to non-members.
This coming Sat 27th November a satanic “Black Mass” celebration is to occur at Newtown RSL – it is simply disgraceful. The advertising which features the insignia of the Church of Satan and an inverted crucifix is encouraging people to come and partake in an “unholy spell to be cast upon the city of Sydney” featuring the “ultimate of soul possessing occult revelations…unbridled blasphemy… [and] a union of all things unholy.
Promoter, Séance Records, has subsequently announced the postponement of the event until another date/venue can be found. They commented in a press release posted on Brisbane based metal forums Brismetal…
Less than two weeks out from the show The RSL board has pulled the plug on Black Mass Festival. They have blatantly cancelled with no prior notice and with no option of negotiation or compromise. They have sadly bowed under pressure from Christians who have lobbied them to cancel the show.
The Christians have launched the full scale of their campaign at the last minute, I believe in a calculated manner to sabotage us to the fullest extent possible. They have done so via a series of facebook pages organized to have the event cancelled. From their website we can tell that these are the same people who lobby against gay & lesbian rights, womens reproductive rights & contraception.
Their actions will cause large scale hurt not to a secret den of Satanists as they may imagine but to normal hard working, tax paying, law abiding Australians. Young people who have taken time off work, rearranged their schedules and family life, then spent money that they probably can’t afford on flights and tickets to the event in the pursuit of a shared love for heavy metal & live independent Australian music.
In response to this turn of events, a rival Facebook group “AGAINST THE CHRISTIANS PROTESTING AGAINST “BLACK MASS” MUSIC FESTIVAL.”
Bands that been announced for the Black Mass festival included Spire, Moon, Astriaal, Sanguinary Misanthropia, Erebus Enthroned, Wardaemonic, Nazxul, and Drowning the Light.

Branded, trying to point out facts using logic is the worst possible way to deal with these people. It only further narrows their views and angers them more. They're trained to divert and walk around facts with excuses and swamp gas. Don't give them any of your attention or energy...for that is what they seek...your energy. Be at peace with the fact that you're aware of the truth. There is no saving anyone...they have to save themselves. You have to remember...as much as they've been lied to and manipulated (speaking of the sheeple being manipulated by the wolves) they still posess a brain and the ability to think for themselves if they so choose. Sadly, most of them choose the easy route: ignorance. In conclusion...
HAIL SATAN!!!!!!!!

Devildriver where supposed to play here in South Africa, and it supposedly got canceled for the same reason. Even if this where proper Levey black mass, Australia is a secular democratic country, discriminating against people because of their perceived religious views would be against the law?

Closed belief trap? If you're trying to assume I'm a Satanist you're wrong. But then it would assume you're very ignorant to what it means to be Satanist in the first place. The Satanic "religion" is not the worship of Satan as god. They believe the only god is within, essentially, god is consciousness. I do believe they're 100% correct there. If you haven't noticed by now Satanists use the term "Hail Satan!" often and display anti-Christian imagery to show their disgust with the Christian faith and its blatant hypocrisy. These actions in no way suggest the worship of death or destruction. Almost every detail you've ever heard about Satanism is mainstream propaganda from religious nut cases like the ones mentioned in the article above. Even the "black mass" itself (as stated in the Satanic Bible) is more of a sarcastic/satyrical play than a ritual working. Anyways Josh, before you assume and point fingers at people you should really do your homework and know your facts.
