Helix Lends Tracks To 'Trailer Park Boys'
Canadian heavy metal rockers HELIX will license tracks from their upcoming CD release "Rockin' In My Outer Space" for new season episodes of Canadian series Alliance-Atlantis hit comedy TV series "Trailer Park Boys". "Trailer" creator/director Mike Clattenburg will also feature Helix lead singer Brian Vollmer in a separately filmed promo segment to be added onto the next "Trailer Park Boys" DVD release.
Heavy metal icons Helix, with their strong international fan base, have been rocking for 30 years, charting gold albums for Capitol Records, while touring the world with bands like "KISS".
Brian Vollmer, the descendant of a US 'Circus Hall of Fame' acrobat, is also a classically-trained vocal coach that teaches 'Bel Canto', a scientific style of singing made popular during the 'Golden Age Of Opera' and taught to him by Eduardo Johnson, the youngest member of the New York Metropolitan Opera. Because of his powerful range, Vollmer is frequently a guest soloist for many symphony orchestras. He lives in the heart of London, Ontario known as 'The Forest City', in a Victorian-furnished estate called 'Planet Helix' and is the author of the upcoming tell-all rock bio "Gimme' An 'R'".
Gearing up for their 2004 "HELIX : 30th Anniversary" celebrations, HELIX will play a special concert, Thursday October 9 at the "Hard Rock" Cafe, 279 Yonge Street, Toronto, showcasing their classic heavy metal music from the 1970's and beyond.
