Tagtgren Checks in From the Studio

Long-running Swedish metal act Hypocrisy, led by acclaimed producer/PAIN frontman Peter Tägtgren, have entered Tägtgren's Abyss studios to begin recording the follow-up to 2002's "Catch-22", tentatively due in early 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records.

"So far the drums are done. We are on working with a deadline because the plan is to finish the recording before our next tour with Dimmu Borgir," Peter writes on the band's web site.

"All the songs have been written and 10 songs is what you'll get. This album will contain a wide variety of songs: there are some fast songs, mid-tempo songs and also and some doom songs."

.

"The tempo of the songs will have the same kind of feeling as our self-titled album ([1999's] 'Hypocrisy') but they will have more 'finesse' to it ... it's hard to put into words, you'll just have to hear if for yourself. The guitar sound is fucking brutal (!!!) and in the same vein as the guitar sound on [1996's] 'Abducted', but heavier and angrier."

Hypocrisy will be teaming up with Dimmu Borgir , Children of Bodom and Nevermore for a U.S. tour beginning in November.
