Tony Lazaro, guitarsit and founding member of death metal icons Vital Remains, has released the following statement regarding the band's recent cancellations of thier tour dates in Mexico.
Tony Lazaro commented by saying:
"As the leader of Vital Remains and on behalf of the whole band, it is with deep regret that I hereby inform all of you that as consequence of information broadcasted through several news media here in the United States last week relating to the violence in Mexico and an alert issued by our government warning American citizens against travelling to Mexico. With that said, several members of the band, fearing for their safety, have opted for postponing our visit to México and as consequence of that the band has been forced to cancel the shows booked for the month of September in Mexico. We apologize to all the fans and promoters and regret this decision and hope that in a near future we will to book a new visit to Mexico and make it up to all of you. Thanks for all your understanding and support."

That's BULL sh**!
It's only the north of Mexico where the violence is that extreme.
I live in Mérida: The safest city in Mexico. They suposse to come over here.
Don't visit Ciudad Juarez. You may be killed by some stupid narco or something. That's ok. But don't be as stupid. Get informed about all the other cities.
Everything was ready to headbang on the Vital Remains concerts.
Thanks for changing mind on the last minute (sarcastic).

I live right next to the border and ya know, I don't blame these guys for changing their minds on going. I'm mexican and all but I have to admit that its a free-for-all slaughterhouse that goes on over there, especially Juarez next door to my town. You take one step into Juarez and it seems like you'll immediately be decapitated or get pumped full of bullets.
