Lifeless Discusess The Best German Beer
Germany's Lifeless released the album "Beyond the Threshold of Death" through Ibex Moon Records on June 8th, 2010. Lifeless guitarist Marc recently conducted an interview with Highwire Daze, in which he discussed the new album and the best kinds of German beer. An excerpt from the interview follows.
Highwire: What German beer could you recommend to our readers and do you like American beer at all?
Marc: Oh, hard to say. The most popular German beer abroad is “Becks” if I got it right. But this is not the best German beer at least. There are so many different kinds of beer in Germany that it is really hard to decide which one is the best. My favorite one is “Kronen Pils” from our hometown Dortmund. And “Diebels Alt” is also great. Unfortunately I don’t know American beer yet. But if we ever do a tour in the States I will try as much of it as possible. Promised…
Highwire: With Beyond The Threshold being a re-release, how close are you to writing and recording all new material?
Marc: Very close. The next album is almost composed completely. We hope to start recording it in late summer. The new material is way more varied and more melodic in parts but of course still old school to the core. There will be some great guest appearances on it too.

I've always been a complainer about the domestic beer here in Canada after I visited Germany on a School trip back in high school. But once I went to the states a had me some Miller High Life, holy f***in sh**!!!! tonic water and urine, that stuff REALLY SUCKED!!!! After that, Kokanee tasted pretty good.
hate Kokanee by the way...........

It's all about where you look...the local brewed beers (usually microbreweries) are always tastier than the mass produced mainstream beer anywhere you go. You can find great beer you just have to know where to look and what to look for...anything blown up on an advertisement and stacked in huge columns by the front of the store...is usually garbage. It's advertised because they're rich...why are they rich? Why is Walmart rich? They've got the best/cheapest prices...alcoholics aren't drinking for taste they're drinking to get drunk as cheaply as possible as often as possible. Again, not to assume all alcoholics are cheap or all people who shop at Walmart are poor...but 9 times out of 10 that's the case. Just sayin'...
