Big Baby Satan Is Born

New York-based BIG BABY SATAN, consisting of ex-REDSHIFT singer Kerry Merkle, ex-SORROW/WEHATEJULIA drummer Mike Hymson and ex-MR. MURRAY/WEHATEJULIA guitarist Larry Forman, have completed work on their self-titled, nine song debut CD. The bands sound has been described as a mix of MELVINS, KYUSS,PANTERA and BLACK SABBATH with the songwriting style of C.O.C.. "We want our songs to be heavy and straight to the point" explained Larry [guitars]. "We have some grooves, some hooks, and lots of CHUG!" he went on to say. The CD consists of eight original tracks, along with the ninth, which is an homage to Ronnie James Dio. "We were testing levels and sounds down prior to recording so we started jamming on 'Holy Diver' by Dio, and it sounded so funny that we kept most of it." added the beefy guitarist.

The nine songs for the CD were recorded with Andy Marchione of Headphone Productions, an all digital recording facility. Guitars and bass were recorded digitally and direct using amplifier simulators, the drums were also electronic. "The use of digital recording gear makes things so much easier...especially when dealing with knuckleheads like these guys" Andy stated.

BIG BABY SATAN are currently gearing up for some shows along the east coast towards the end of the spring and have even been in discussions of hooking up a mini-tour with some other local Long Island acts come the summer.
