Criss Oliva to be Honored with memorial concert

Savatage fans are cordially invited to join the band's mastermind Jon Oliva, along with some very special guests (to be announced), on Friday, October 17, 2003 at the Green Parrot Pub in Largo, Florida to remember and celebrate the life and contributions of Jon's brother, late Savatage guitarist Christopher Michael Oliva, at a 10th Anniversary Memorial concert.

Pre-show tickets for the event will go on sale Friday, August 1, 2003 through www.crissoliva.com. Proceeds will be donated in Criss' memory to the CADD/Alcohol Free Kids Organization.

Special-edition, limited merchandise will be available at the show and will include an Avatar DVD with a 25-minute-long memorial of Criss.

As most Savatage fans know, in the early morning hours of October 17, 1993 Criss Oliva and his wife Dawn were en route to the Livestock Festival in Zephyrhills, Florida when tragedy struck. They were hit head-on by a drunk driver. Criss was killed and his wife Dawn suffered severe injuries. Fans mourned the loss of one of music's most gifted guitar players.
