Luna Mortis Calls It Quits and Withdraws From Primal Fear Tour

Wisconsin female fronted metal band Luna Mortis has announced that they have decided to disband. Lead guitarist Brian Koenig issued the following statement regarding their decision to disband:
"I regret to say that as of today the band will be dissolving and we will be going our separate ways. A huge thanks from the bottom of our hearts for the fans and support we have received over the course of the last 9 years. It has been an exciting and often turbulent ride, but everything must come to an end eventually. Unfortunately, we will be unable to go on the May tour with Primal Fear, so our apologies to the people who were looking forward to hanging with us out on the road. To our local fans, we will more than likely be playing one more Madison show sometime in the next few months, we'll keep everyone posted"
Luna Mortis was recently dropped from Century Media Records. In December vocalist Mary Zimmer commented on their uncertain future as a band after being dropped by their label, "Does this mean Luna Mortis will not be releasing another album? No. It just means that soon, we will be label-less and have a few decisions to make about what our next move will be and what we'd like to do in regard to the future of the band."

ya the absence was awesome. and the stuff with ottoman empire was equally as awesome. they really kept improving slightly with every effort. and with the good production of the absence i was excited to see what was coming next. i blame CM cause they dropped them.

honestly there could be other factors, I don't know CM's policies, but sometimes labels force bands into contracts that make them 'own' your name. they changed their name right before they got signed and now they're 'breaking up' cause of it. I'm sure we'll see these musicians in other projects, but possibly not together anymore. another possibility is that they lost funding for their tour with primal fear and they decided to throw in the towel cause of debts with the label and what not.

yeah, I don't know why I didn't post on this(probably 'cause I already saw this on the WMA, but yeah). It sucks really bad. I was talking with Corey(rythem guitarist) and he said he had a few side projects going, but yeah. They're doing a farewell show and I'll hopefully go to it.
oh, and btw, f*** you, blahBLAH

Sorry to hear such gloomy-news and hopefully there will be another Record label that will "embrance" LUNA MORTIS/their music groove. "There's always other avenues that will take interest...'for the whole being & growth of the band. Best of luck in your search for the right home Record label." peace.

Heh, bummer. The Absence was a decent album and I thought that they had better things in store, but I guess we'll never know.
