Century Media Records Drops Luna Mortis and Band Announces Tour With Primal Fear

Band Photo: Primal Fear (?)
Vocalist Mary Zimmer of Luna Mortis has issued the following update:
"As a lot of you guys have noticed, we have been announced as the direct support for Primal Fear in North America from the end of May-June of 2010. This is true, we are really excited about the tour, I am going to post the dates today. It's going to be a great tour, covering more of the US this time, including Texas and some southern areas we have never played before. We look forward to going out on the road with Primal Fear, who are an excellent band and terrific musicians."
"The next thing that a few of you have messaged my personal profile about is the fact that we now appear listed in the 'alumni' list of the Century Media website. This is because we are in fact, being dropped by Century Media and will not be releasing another record with them. Does this mean Luna Mortis will not be releasing another album? No. It just means that soon, we will be label-less and have a few decisions to make about what our next move will be and what we'd like to do in regard to the future of the band."
"Those decisions will take us awhile to figure out, so for now, we just thought we'd update you on what's going on and we look forward to seeing you guys out on the road in the spring!"

I actually know a member of a band signed to CM (a friend of a friend) and well... the "inside" view could only be described as 'unprofessional'. They've got sh1tloads of bands, but unlike Nuclear Blast, CM just doesn't seem to be able to make it click even on a decent level for most of them

hammerheart: yeah i know it was a joke, but there is probably truth to it.
wolf: isn't NB and CM affiliated with each other somehow? both CM and NB sign more bands than they can handle hoping that one makes it big and then they pull back and focus on another band they can push. NB does get luckier though. CM did well with lacuna coil, iced earth, blind guardian, shadows fall, and into eternity though, but most of those bands have moved on from the label. CM has been lacking and probably because of a lack of money.

z, to my knowledge CM and NB are not affiliated in any way, although their MO is quite similar. Having said that, it´s a bit odd that NB seems to be the "luckier" one out of the two, and my response to that would be "it´s not a question of luck". And there are various others who I know would agree with me. CM is just an unprofessional label, kinda in a way of Earache Records.
Branded, CM doesn´t want to spend time/money on a photo shoot and 15mins on photoshop to "promote" one of their bands. U know, why bother? :)

I wonder why. I thought that Absence was a great album. This band has a lot of talent so they'll find something.
