As was previously reported, James "The Rev" Sullivan of Avenged Sevenfold was found dead in his home on December 28th. Avenged Sevenfold has now issued the following statement from the Sullivan family:

"Message from the Sullivan family: We would like to thank all of Jimmy’s fans for the heartfelt comments that have been posted – it is comforting to know that his genius and antics were appreciated and that he was loved so much. Our hearts are broken – he was much too young to fall. February 9, 1981 – December 28, 2009. Óg agus saor go deo (forever young and free)

You will be Missed Jimmy. I wish I would of had the chance to see you live. But I had the Live in Long Beach and it made me what to see you guys more. I loved Jimmy, he was one hell of a drummer and he will be missed. Wish i would of had the chance to see him before he passed, even though I didn't know him, his death still shocked me and still does to this day. Rest in Peace Jimmy, you will be missed.

Well the world of metal/hard rock has lost a very unique individually, who I always assumed was gay but I guess he had a wife?!?! But alls I can say is thanks to him and the band because Avenged Sevenfold is the band that got me into metal. Without them I would probably be listening to My Chemical Romance or worse... Only country. Thanks to them I can now listen to great bands like After the Burial and Children of Bodom and other random metal sub-genre bands. But I am not ashamed that they are my favorite band, and Jimmy my favorite drummer, because of all they have done for me in my growth of music. They may not be the be the heaviest metal in the shed, but even the lightest piece of metal is still metal.
Peace, Love, and Chicken Grease my brothers
