The "Big Four" Rumors are True: Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax Will Make Unprecedented Appearance in 2010

After much speculation, Sonisphere Festival has confirmed the Big Four (Anthrax, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth) will finally play live again! The Big Four that popularized the thrash metal movement in the 80's have never been on the same stage at once, but now the bands will have the chance to finally do so in 2010.
Originally, just a huge rumor, it has finally been confirmed. After Dave Mustaine angered Metallica and Anthrax, hopes for a Big Four concert were not looking promising. However, Sonisphere Festival has just announced that on June 16th 2010, these thrash metal giants will be sharing the stage for the first time at the Bemowo Airport in Poland. It has also been updated that the Big Four bands will also make a second appearance in the Czech Republic, with more Sonisphere shows featuring the combo to be announced in the coming days and weeks.
"Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time...what a mindfuck! Bring it on!" says Lars Ulrich, the Drummer of Metallica. "It's about fucking time this happened. And it's about time the fans finally what they want. This is fucking awesome," says Kerry King of Slayer.
ANTHRAX guitarist SCOTT IAN agrees, commenting on the enormity of the announcement:
"People have been talking about these four bands playing together since 1984. That's twenty-six years of expectation!!! And the thing is, I believe not only will we live up to the expectations, we will shatter them!! No other four bands as influential as the four of us have ever done this. Imagine if The Beatles, Stones, The Who and Zeppelin had done shows? Or Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead? Well, I may be getting into some rarified air here but as a fan, that's how big I feel this is."
The Big Four's appearance is only exclusive to Europe it seems for now. Stay tune for hopes of an appearance in America.

They need to do a US tour, and hit more than just the 20 spots where they go to california like 3 times and texas 3 times. Indiana misses alot of good shows. Now we just need a little 4 reunion tour. Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Forbidden tour, that would be sick.

i'm afraid i don't think this is gonna turn into a bigger tour, from a purely objective standpoint, england is usually one of the best places to play outside the US, and megadeth and tallica have already turned down knebworth.
from a purely subjective standpoint, it sucks that it's in poland... once in a lifetime opportunity and it's in eastern europe... i know plenty of people who are considering going there just to see it

I swear to god, if Dave Mustaine ruins this f***ing concert before it gets to America through either his douchebaginess against Metallica, or his Christian f***ery against Slayer, or just being an egotiscal a$$ and insulting Anthrax somehow...I swear, I will f***ing hunt him down and kick his a$$ myself.
Metal horns fingers crossed.

Yeah! Great! Poland sooo deserve this, everybody knows that we have a great audience and one of the best moshpit on earth :D US buddies, don't worry, surely they will play a big national tour for you, comercially it's too big deal to miss the US, the booking agency knows that for sure!

well since THEY know all them playing is a big deal, and WE know that all 4 playing is a big deal, then wouldnt the next step from not only a musical but also an economic point of view be to tour? and since they are all from the U.S. it would only make sense. but, then again theres always petty rivalry that has to kill something awesome...

I hope Dave doesn't ruin this by complaining and being an arrogant a$$hole.
Hahaha I bet alot of the attention will probably be focus on dave since we know he can f*** everything up pretty easily.
I also see this tour being soldout quickly and costing a helluvalottamonies :|

I doubt Dave would f*** up something this big when in the 90's when the feud with Metallica was still going on he didn't f*** up that concert they did together. Also he should realize that Metallica isn't as great as they were in the 80's because James singing butchers their 80's stuff. If they don't play in the US (which they probably will end up doing) they are morons.

They would sell out everywhere if they toured the states. You may dislike some of these guys on moral basis, but face it, its 2010 and this could be a once in a lifetime chance, it may never happen again. I would love to throw my horns up in a audience to all of these guys. Poland is very lucky.....F***in' basta**'s!!! Enjoy :)
