I hope they undo whatever they did to themselves with "Threads"...That album while not bad, was easily their worst.

Given their situation--major label debut...it was a sink or swim situation and they wanted to net more fans...or grow or whatever it is that they call dumbing things down, slowing things down and ramping up the melody...I think they only managed to scare off a few fans.

In their shoes I would have done the same thing though. Rare is the band that could or would be able to pull a Lamb of God.

I'm excited about this album but I know alot of people who are done with them.

I will still check it out. But with few samples or details I am VERY skeptical. Post 2 couldn't have said it any better. It seems to be a trend that a lot of class A metal acts have been following (In Flames, Shadows Fall). That being said, I still have a huge amount of respect for Shadows Fall guitarist.

they scared off more thn a few if im not wrong this sold around 100,000 on a majr label war within sold over 300,000 on century media....oops.... they have it in them for another great album they just have to want the great album more than publicity and exposure they thought they would get on atlantic, and i think they do want the quality music more or they would have tried hangin on the major label instead of branching out on their own...i have high hopes for this album...i remeber the first time i ever saw them was right after brian joined, they were at a sh**hole club here in kansas b4 the art of balance and when they played the "new" songs it felt like i was part of something special they killed it and i only payed 7 dollars...i want that feeling again not just with them but alot of bands i really think have some classics left in em and yea post two couldnt have said it better

if it is anything less than a redemtion they will recieve alot of s h i t....but i have a really good feeling as i said earlier i liked threads of life better live there were a couple a song that were really fuccking good but the guitar players were actually playing their guitars and not trying to sing bubblegum pop...i want to believe they want to top the war within and art of balance..but only they can make that desicion so lets see

i like shadows fall and what they've done with their music and to modern metal. they old skool thrash metal sounds boughten and mixed with modern metal is just amazing and incredible musicianship, and, yes, threads was them aiming big with the mediocre version of their good music, and unfortunately, wasn't vry good, at all. in flames on the other hand, i abosultely love, but i understand the cr@p talk about them changing or "watering down" about or around soundtrack and/or come clarity. i don't believe going slower, or softer and experimenting (in SOME songs) means selling out and it does come awfully close to "watering down" BUT at least STILL keep the metal and heavy sounds, which they did, especially their scandinavian guitar work. i still love the soundtrack and come clarity albums along with clayman, of course, and reroute, but i also like a sense of purpose and i do like it only kuz, even tho different and "watered down" from their other and older stuff, it is, in fact, awesome and good metal, and in the age of "watering down" and selling out, it's hard to find that. i mean, it's not like they pulled a metallica on us lol lets just hope that for shadows fall and in flames, that their next albums r better, heavier, and, most importantly, stay }\/{3+@|_ \m/
