Guitar Hero: Van Halen To Exclude Former Members Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar
A spokesman for game company Activision has confirmed that former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar (vocals) and Michael Anthony (bass player) will not be appearing in the forthcoming Guitar Hero: Van Halen video game. The game will only feature the current lineup of singer David Lee Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and bass player Wolfgang Van Halen. It also seems unlikely that songs from the four albums Hagar wrote with the band will appear on the game. Guitar Hero: Van Halen will be released around the November/December mark.

thats f***en stupid. michael anthony is way better than wolfgang and sammy hagar was pretty bad a$$ too. he wasn't as good as david lee roth but they did come out with some really good songs while he was the front man. they should let sh** go so this could be the complete van halen experience

Michael Anthony did the classic backing vocals!! And now they cant put Poundcake on there which is a killer song will the drill playing at the begining. wtv, I don't play those kind of games so they wouldnt get my $$ anyway.
oh and does this mean there might be some songs with Cherone singing in the game ;)?

Having been a huge VH fan for years (hence the screen name) this kind of crap continually pisses me off. ( I think I'm more of a Sammy Hagar fan now than VH.) And from what I have read here and elsewhere, there will be no Cherone either. It's like what they tried to do with their website awhile back, remove everyone except the current line up; fans got p***ed and they changed that back; maybe we'll see something similar come down the line with the guitar hero

I started to have my suspicions on EVH when Sammy Hagar left/was booted out of VH, as there was quite a revelatory interview with Hagar in the Guitar World magazine (April issue back in 1997 in case anyone wants to check it out) and it was pretty hard stuff. Hagar told what had happened with Eddie and that gave me a pretty good idea what a d1ck "Mr." Edward Van Halen really is. So this comes as no suprise.

Hagar has more talent than Roth as evidenced by the fact that one has a career without VH and the other doesn't. I've always been in the minority but I liked the Van Hagar stuff better. But based on the past 10 or so years of crap coming from Edward, my opinion of VH couldn't get much lower so this is not much of a surprise.

bristowe- I was tryin to get people to check those guys out a year ago, but nobody listened lol. I'm just now getting my guitarist into them, and now he likes them more thant I do haha.
Sinners Defeat was the song that made me like them, but virtually everything on that album is unorthodoxically awesome. I still dont know what the "Est." part is supposed to be, though technically, I dont know what "Mors Principium" means either, so I shouldnt really complain lol.
I just hate Van halen for the fact that one of the greates guitarist on the planet is the main attraction to a pop rock hair metal band. Great stuff IN the songs, but I cant stand the songs themselves. I personally enjoy Hagar's solo stuff though, and I dont know why. :P
Irregardless, this is one too many guitar hero games for me. I'm done with the franchise If I can convince my friends to let it die. Otherwise I'll have to sit there while everyone in the room plays "Jump!" a hundred thousand times.

I used to love Van Halen when I first picked up the guitar 20 years ago but he's ruined them for me. Although he was an innovator in the early days, many, many guitarists have surpassed him. Listen to "Van Halen III" (in used CD shops worldwide) or the new songs off the "Best of Both Worlds" compilation and you'll hear that Eddie isn't making interesting music anymore. Michael Anthony deserves more respect than this and Sammy Hagar might not be as fun as Dave but he's a better singer and "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" is one of my fave VH albums. Screw you E.V.H, I'm done with your music.

"Death principally it is" I'm guessing would be the literal translation. Ya just got to know what words mean what and the grammer of anything latin-based all fits pretty easily. Except for English. we have no f***ing rules when it comes to grammer lol Thanks BG. bw...how the f*** do you know that anyway lol?

FAN: Lol, actually, she is my daughter so it actually went like this; Wow daddy, you didn't even finish the song. It's a good thing you play a real guitar because you can't play this at all. You're actually an even better singer than you are a guitar player so maybe they will make a singer hero so you could win one. Yep, Owned by my 10 year old daughter.
