Amorphis Finish Mastering CD

Finland's Amorphis finished mastering their as-yet-untitled new album today (March 4) at Helsinki's Finnvox studios for a tentative late spring release. The sextet, who are currently unsigned following a lengthy stint with Relapse Records, are negotiating with several record companies and are expected to make an announcement regarding a new label home in the next couple of weeks.

Amorphis tracked 15 songs during the sessions for the new album, with 10 tentatively scheduled to appear on the follow-up to 2000's "Am Universum". Frontman Pasi Koskinen recorded all vocals for the CD at Seawolf studio in Suomenlinna under the guidance of Hannu Leiden (ex-singer of Havana Blacks), who had previously worked with Hanoi Rocks, among others. Says guitarist Esa Holopainen: "I think our new material is a mixture of both new and old elements."
