^ just saying my opinion. There are a handful of bands I cannot stand and Dream Theater is one them. Btw, they're a progressive rock band, not metal on any standards. Sure, they can play and Petrucci is a great player, but their music makes me wish I was deaf

M7 You are a big a$$ moron who has no idea what the hell you are talking about.DreamTheater has been kicking a$$ for over 20 years and their live shows are incredible and they are a metal band. You are probably one of those douchebags who like the Red Chord,Nile or some of those other bands who aren't worth a f**k,and as far as post 2 who is the Devildriver fan you are clueless as well.I actually do like Devildriver and have seen them live and they are great but they are no comparison to Dream Theater. You 2 idiots need to show a little respect!

Dream Theater is amazingly talented but that is all they have. Talent isnt everything and they go over the top with it so far that they strip away anything that makes them slightly interesting. I'm with you M7 on both DT and how people will flip sh** if your opinions differ even slightly from their own let alone completely even when it is calmly and rationally put.

Yeah, saying that isn't the ''slightest bit of critique'', unless something terribly wrong happened to you under birth.
Maybe the overdo things, but that's what progressive metal is all about! Pushing the limits. You can't say that they suck or make bad music, because they are damn good songwriters and have written songs in pretty much every genre, time signatures and tempos and whatever! You can't argue about that they are talented, good songwriters and so on, and so on!

Well... interesting discussion. I love Dream Theater, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and music is a very subjective matter so M703 and others really don“t have to like them. And yes it is possible to dislike certain kinds of music even if they play extremly fast in very odd time signatures.

Hmm... so it's not enough that their own stuff is horrible, but now they have to destroy other band's music as well! This band should be banned from music biz all together
