Satyricon Nominated for Award, Post Update
According to their website, Satyricon’s Volcano was nominated for Osloprisen, two Alarm Awards and the Norwegian Grammy and they won them all. The band stated: “We must have done something right with Volcano as everyone seems to like it regardless of their background.”
The band also posted the following road update: “We're in Rennes, France and it's a sunny day. Quite a change from the pale grey UK that we've just finished. Before the UK we did our opening show in Essen, Germany which went well and then we did one of the best Satyricon shows in a long time in Vosselaar, Belgium much to our satisfaction. Four shows in Holland which also went down well and then off to the United Kingdom which we finished with mixed emotions.
Bradford must be the ugliest dump in the world. What a shithole! Glasgow is not ready for Black Metal yet, but maybe we helped them a little bit with our performance. Birmingham and Bristol was sad as the promoter for these two shows was lazy and half-hearted in everything he did or rather didn't do for the band and our crew. The fans enjoyed it though. Manchester and Dublin was good and London was great! London had the facilities to show what Satyricon live is really about despite the pyro being refused by the council and a filthy dressing room. The band is working out several times a week to keep the strength and spirit up. Feels good. Keep on coming out to the shows and display power and energy!”
