Cradle Of Filth Singer Storms Off Stage In Australia

Band Photo: Cradle Of Filth (?)
Metal As Fuck reports:
"Having CRADLE OF FILTH in the City Of Churches caused a lot of excitement, and they played a pretty good set. But Dani Filth walking off-stage in the middle of a track, thereby pretty much ending the show, was baffling, a little bit unprofessional, and a bad way to end a good night."

people like Dani who think they're some kind of god really important person in this world often forget that really.. he is just some dude in a band, a band that in the large scale of things, isn't even well known. Metalheads are so full of themselves and live in their own little fabricated world, Dani is no different.
You all are so off the mark......
If you guys listen very closely, in the background you can hear some one off to the side of stage say, "Hey mate, more ACDC tickets were just released!"
The extreme love Australians have for ACDC has possessed Dani Filth! It is in the water down under!
It is brilliant move on his part. Now the band has to re-schedule the show, which will just so happen to be two days before the ACDC show Dani is getting tickets for.
doesn't make a difference , dani uses playback anyway, used to love old COF but recently thay are sh**,dani pisses me off with he's ego and f***ed up attitude, saw them last december at the filth festival, it was the only time in my life i walked off out of a gig.
NP:Her ghost in the fog by COF
Dude.. he apparently came back on stage.. unless they didn't get the leaving completely part on video. lol I'd understand if he left if the song went wrong of something. That's kind of embarrassing. I love black metal and all but some black metal bands are really dramatic. COF used to be amazing. I loved them soooo much. Then they just got more and more known and mainstream and sh*t. I still listen to the old stuff but whatever. Dani has enough money to walk off of one stage anyways. lol
Meh. If you're a professional, you play through a song no matter how bad it gets. If you're good spirited enough you make a joke about it or whatever. No matter how old I get, I think I'll always love the story about how Dani Filth got his arse kicked at Download.

I was at the show when this happened... I wasn't expecting cof to be good live, but they suprised me actually..
That is until dani walked off halfway through this song. Their set finshed about 20 mins early (i saw the time sheet at the sound desk). I think they would have had at least 2 more songs to play, since neither Her Ghost in the Fog or From the Cradle to Enslave were played.
The band didn't even say goodbye or anything, just walked off at the end of the song.
Bunch of tossbags.. ruined what was otherwise a reasonably good show.
Did anyone else from australia on here see them?
How long was their set and did they play those two songs?

Oz what happend at download?....this is all news to me, ive seen filth twice, 2007 and earlier this year in la at the music box,..they were good live...all this dani s a prik and some self absorbed premadonna or a baby, is greek and sad to me cause i like this band, and they arent considered black anymore arent they considered industrial or some sh!t like that?....hope their was more to it than the post however the post was brief and barely scratched the surface of detail to the incident.....not a huge black metal guy but dimmu-borgir is one of my favorite bands of all time, so to say fahq black metal is preposterous...
Valley, they are pretty much in a genre of their own. Dani himself has said they are not black metal. Furthermore, black metal is not a "scene" it is a kingdom with ideals. Do a bit more research into black metal.
One day I shall ask Dani what on Earth happened at this show. Mayhaps a fight between him, and a band mate insued before heading on to the stage, and he was still angry at them?
Laticia: Omigosh.. are you kidding me? Like, I don't know if I even wanna see them live anymore. I'd be so f*ckin' p*ssed. That's some bullsh*t. I'm sure they're amazing live, no lie. But omigosh... why would he do that?
Diamond Oz: That's true. If he was really oh so brutal then I think he'd make a joke out of it and just be like, "Well, f*ck. lol" Seriously, that's so disappointing. And it's not that big of a deal. It was a mistake. Gosh.. ridiculous Dani Filth with his f*ckin' ego and sh*t.
Kalis_wrath is right. I was gonna say that in retort to "Valley..." person. Black Metal is about ideals and culture, as well as the music. Cradle is just image, music, money (with a tincture of fa**otry). And you can't just say "f*** the whole black metal scene" just because of some poseurs. It goes alot deeper than every f*** who overuses "tr00, necr0," and "fr0st3d"
While a main influence is black metal, Cradle isn't black metal. If you really want to be specific, Blackened Gothic Metal.

Gorec***, I agree. Bands like Mayhem, Burzum and (old) Darkthrone followed certain ideals, had beliefs, and their music was to them a way of showing that. true black metal isn't something that can really be started well by some guys deciding to play some black metal in a warm, modern recording studio because they feel like it. it's more than that; it's the culture and political views etc., not just a form of music.
I'd just call them Gothic metal tbh, especially after hearing their cover of hallowed be thy name.

I heard from a friend of a friend of mine who was at the pub after this show and he had a chat to one of the guitarists from cof. Apparantly dani had a massive night on saturday.. drunk off his face, harassing girls, ended up getting kicked out of enigma bar etc.
So he was pretty hungover and so when they had a couple sound problems (minor at the most in my opinion) he lost it and walked off stage. The rest of the band finished the song and went backstage to see what happened. Although in the time it took to find dani and what was going on, it was too late. Lights had come on and security forced everyone out.
That's what i heard anyway, and it matches up with what i saw at the show too.
Oh well, the rest of the gig was pretty good :)
Black metal is music with pourpouse. It is about pride, and preservation of your heritage no matter what that might be. Bands like Watain, Dissection, Lusifgum, Massemord, Dimmu Borgir, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Emperor, Inquinok, Ceremonial Castings, Drawn and quartered, Cvltvs mortem, and Hail The Night are all fine examples of what black metal magic is. Not Cradle of Filth.
AlexE, don't get me wrong, when I do black metal, I prefer modern studios. Bear in mind, that alot of those bands aren't doing it that way by choice, its just because money is tight. Why do you think Behemoth's sound quality improved on Pandemonic Incantations?
While I appreciate old school black metal without proper recording, I understand that it was because that was all they had. Alot of people now get it in their heads that "Oh they did it because it was more tr00" or something...No, it was because they were more p00r. Thats why when more money came in, album sound quality got better. Thats not selling out, thats necessity.
Cradle, on the other hand, sold out from the beginning. If you ever read the Revolver interview with Nergal, Shagrath, and Dani, Dani just said stupid sh** like "Black Metal didn't get known til after the church burnings and murders...Then he went from Anonymous to Euronymous" I swear, I could almost see the look on Shagrath and Nergal's faces during that interview.

45 (GoreC), I get that entirely. I prefer the original, slightly worse sound quality, as it just seems more 'black metal' to me, though I can't exactly explain why. That said, i don't listen to Black Metal a lot, so I partly enjoy it for the change it offers from more refined sounds of melodeath etc.
50, I'd recommend actually listening to Black Metal more seriously before saying that, and at least researching a bit of the background. As far as i'm concerned, Ancient Greece never really had ideals (though a few select individuals and city states did seem to), but black metal certainly did and does; albeit more of a barony of ideals than a kingdom. Disliking the music's fine by me, but prejudice against it is not. :)
the GOOD black metal is about culture and heritage and that sort of thing. it's not meant to be a cult following or an ARMY. for f*** sakes, that sounds horrible. To me that echoes the exact message of major organized religions. it's about being true to who you are and finding your calling..and not digesting every peice of pseudo-scientific non-sense from the t.v. and other sources without giving it a thought yourself.
On topic, Cradle of Filth is self-proclaimed as "extreme" metal. whatever the f*** that means.
I'm lol'ing at the fact that some dude above just threw in "gothic metal" as a tag for COF because they're not black metal or such. I don't know enough about COF to really say or care about what they are, but it's funny how "gothic metal" seems to be the insult tag that's just thrown in lol.
They totally are gothic metal. It's not an insult at all. At least not the way I see it. It's something to ponder about, but in the end, they are. They're so like, into themselves and making money. I'm starting to think that's all they're about is making money.
Now Playing: Vredesbyrd - Dimmu Borgir. :p
It appears to me he "stayed" on the stage performing this "Shot Out of Hell" song. CRADLE OF FILTH leader Dani Filth didn't go anyway but complete this song performance above. Maybe it's another song that he walked out on it happens: people getting upset over whatever/depends on how their mood swings are.

It is just f***ing music people. I like black metal. some. but to get into what they believe and what they are about is f***ing retarded. I love the feeling i get when i listen to black metal. its powerful as f***. but to agree with their beliefs and such is just stupid. i have some hardcore friends who preach all about the hardcore beliefs...blah blah blah.. friends, loyalty, family. who cares. its f***ing music. listen to it and enjoy it. dont f***ing preach. to me they are just as annoying as christians.
on topic- f***, i enjoy cradle of filth. i think they get better with every album. but i hope this was just a slip up. kinda unprofessional. but hey there is worse.

^63 totally agree with that...
^64 all christians are annoying...you never stereotype race religons heritage or whatever...your always gonna have bad apples in the bunch, but that doesnt mean the whole bunch is bad...terrible analysis....
And how did cof sell out..cause they went from black to industrial or extreme?
I dont consider them black, they are whatever extreme industrial whatever, so to rip them from a blackmetal perspective is stupid, now if you wanna rip them for being a lousy band in general with valid points without being a hater then thats fine
I 3rd DeathInEye's statement.
GGDoy = Pwned :D
I DO get where he's coming from but music moves people. Have you ever seen old black ladies in church?? Running up and down the church during the music yelling they have the holy ghosts in them. Crazy sh*t, man. lol
Hah, Panda you just reminded me of a very unfortunate period in my youth when I attended an Apostolic Pentecostal church for awhile. Women running up and down the aisles while screaming at full volume, people getting together into little groups babbling in made up languages and pretending to understand each other, kids in suits literally rolling up and down the aisles on their backs, people pounding their heads against the walls like their at a mosque in the holy land, and all this is BEFORE the music starts. If you ever need to just flat out laugh at the absurdity of our species, just wander into one these little churches for ten or fifteen minutes. It really puts things into perspective.
xFiruath: Omigosh!! I know! I've been to one. I was never the same after it. lmfao That sh*t scares the f*ck out of me though.... Really.. lol
GOREC*NT: I know what you mean. I used to live in south Florida... like, Miami in the ghetto. So I'm used to all the black women and their church and funerals and stuff. Pretty funny but sad sh*t, man. lol I even said it out loud how you spelled it: "Oh lawd! He's gone!" lmfao I can't stop laughing over it. xD
Gore: I highly recomend you refrain from attending a Southern Baptist church in the South. You don't look nuthin like em fellers down ner. They might rekon you to be the Devil and hang ya from the willer tree.
I prefer drinking arsenic and handling poisonous snakes. Not to be closer to God, but it's just a lot of fun. Of course I also have a butt hair and ear wax collection. lol. \m/\m/!!! How fvcking metal is that?
XWigglesX: I know. lol I just can't help it. My new addiction though is that new Mountain Dew. lol The purple or blue... whatever f*ckin' color it is.. yeah.. and I know diet soda's bad for you. If you went to my myspace and you were referring to that, I haven't changed it in quite a while. lol
I saw Cradle of Filth back in 2002 or 2003 - I was actually quite impressed with their LIVE show.
I don't like the musik all that much anymore, but they put on a solid show. Aside from that, though, Dani was a real dik to walk off stage without giving some kind of explanation.
GOREC*NT: Hmm.. you're bi? A lot of guys have been turning bi these days. I'm sure you were bi before it was trendy though. lol I was. :p I think I've had an odd attraction to both sexes since I was 7 and my best friend and I played house. lmfao xD So yeah, I like girls, they're great. My bf doesn't really agree with it all the time. When we 1st got together he was all for me doing sh*t with other girls.. then I made out with this girl and he got jealous. So he's like, "You have to ask me 1st and I have to be there, or it's cheating." lol
