Megadeth Completes New Album

Band Photo: Megadeth (?)
In a recent message from the studio, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine announced that the band has completed work on their new studio album. The message reads as follows:
"I'm at the studio right now, Vic's Garage, and we are done! We're just right now finishing the last couple of notes on the new record, and Andy (Sneap, producer)'s getting ready to pack his bags and head up to Los Angeles tomorrow to get ready to fly back home on Thursday. Man, this has been a long, grueling, enduring process but it's been so worth it, and I'm so excited. I'm more excited about this record then I've been in any record since back in the 1980s. I would say, probably since, well definitely since Rust In Peace there's nothing that's excited me this much - maybe Countdown (To Extinction), but this is just absolutely insane."

( its in the mu archives somewhere) You oughta be kicked in the balls to see if you gotta pair...you and your gay mate ( alter ego) lou gossit jr up there, who by the way sounds about ohh 14 or 15 years old, need to switch beers....that pee water you drink pilsner is your demise...props to dave for rockin the cross and war bristowe for losing his membership on the mu due to his lack of testicular fortitude......

Ok, my final posting on Megadeth here, I absolutely HATE their albums (apart from Holy Wars which had some nice playing on it, courtesy of Marty Friedman) and I cannot stand Mustaine and his arrogant BS comments on how he's looked up in the guitar and metal world. Mustaine's the biggest idiot in metal with Anselmo and I wish he'd just disappear. And thats that, Ive had my say, period.

^ To me, Anselmo's exactly alike to Mustaine, worse actually as Phil's really not that talented. Also all the comments he's made about Pantera plus that wonderful comment he made about Dime (the "He should be severly beaten") just before Dime got shot... To me Anselmo just comes across as 100% BS who doesnt have anything good to say about anybody. he practically destroyed Pantera and he just goes on throwing sh1t at Vinnie even now

Jamez: I really hate Anselmo because I think its mainly his fault why Dimebag got shot...personal opinion but I think he's got some talent. I find Mustaine just a bit of a d*** really...
I quite like United Abomination. There's some good tracks on there.

Observation from Bruno:
Why is it that, at least here in the States, it always seem that the people that hate Dave Mustaine and Phil Anselmo always seem to be the kind of people that were first days buyers of Black Reign and St Anger?
I observe again and again that the ones talking sh** on Phil/Dave are the same kind of people that ignore Ozzy's plunge into reality TV and the fact that Metallica has sucked for nearly twenty years?

Bruno: My opinion is (Well I'm not from the States but...) I don't like Ozzy Osbourne at all as a person but I like of couple of his songs. I really don't have the time of day for him... As far as Metallica is concerned I rather like some of their newer tracks (not St Anger)

BodomBeach- Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the music of all four of those bands (some more than others) but I just seem to notice that what I mentioned in post 25. It could be just a coincidence, but it has happened to me on more than one occasion when discussing the music of those artists .

Bruno, I kinda missed your point on #25. Anyway, I agree on the Metallica part, but I really enjoyed The Osbournes, although it focused so much on his spoiled kids and Sharon (well.. what do u expect? The OsbourneS) and thats why I'm really excited to see the new documentary on Ozzy. There are plenty of totally crap "real life" rock star episodes, But I thought the osbournes were great. My opinion.
KanadianKoRn, Phil always seems to always have a comment towards Vinnie like "He's p***ed off cos his meal ticket walked out" etc.

Bruno: I guess i'm the exception to the rule. I've met them both and while Phil is a bit of an ego-maniac, Dave is just a complete douche rocket. I couldn't ignore Ozzy's plunge into reality TV because he was and will always be one of my biggest idols (met him too but he was mentally not there at the time). As i've stated before, I hadn't purchased a Metallica CD since Cliff died (Death Magnetic is in the glovebox of my car as I type this where it's been since the second week that I owned it).

Phil Anslemo has talent. Noone can deny that. he has pantera, superjoint ritual, and Down under his belt, all three being fairly succesful bands, as far as success in metal goes anyway. Not to mention Christ inversion,a nd I'm fairly certain he had something to do with the formation and mild success of Eyehategod, although exactly what it was eludes me at the moment.
Not to mention, without his introduction of the vocal style he based off exorder's, Pantera would still be a hair metal band.
He's still a douche, but the man has made quite a few waves in the metal world, and it wasnt dumb luck that did it.
Dave Mustaine can suck it though. I've met him too, and I gotta tell ya, if the song Holy Wars wasnt so awesome, I would no longer be listening to Megadave at all. That,a nd the fact that he somehow keeps snagging excellent guitarists for his albums so he can ride in their glory that he thinks is all his doing....
I'll look forward ot this new album with toungue in cheek. United was decent, a few hidden gems; but they never would have snagged me as a fan if I wasnt one already. If all the f***king updates are anything to go by, this album had better be awesome.

Dave invented thrash, Dave invented spider chord sequencing(comparable to schönberg), Dave writes poetry, Dave constructs songs comparable to german romantics...we can go on. He IS the Genius of our time. But...His career sucks! Man! I am not saying that if X sells 20 million that makes X great. It can be the contrary. I am afraid Dave remind me of Nietzsche. He, Nietzsche, called himself untimely. His books didn't sell when he was around. Recognition came by the time he had become mad. His last word were "Mom, we are happy, aren't we?" We don't want Dave Mustaine to have that fate. No!!!
When some others continue to plagiarize his riffs, lyrics, ideas etc and still make bad records which sell millions Dave Mustaine can do nothing, but watch and whine. Dave is being called names, all sort of names. Dave's voice in the public space is fading. He is certainly sliding into a has been. It is his fault. Today you need to have an efficient machinery to remain heard or be read. Look at Obama! There is nothing to be ashamed of it. Today people don't have judgment. They repeat what they are told the maximum times in the loudest voice. They don't even form opinions. Opinions are pasted onto their syrinx which they repeat.
When you are convinced that you make something great, it is your responsibility to make sure that it is heard and preserved. Dave Mustaine does not seem to know that. The intricacies of song construction should go into management and marketing.
Fact is that his machinery sucks, his website, his PR...everything. Look at the plagiarist piss stain inductees. They run a spectacular machinery. Does he lack money? We can make a fund. Do he lack good people? There are many who have seen a glimpse of his genius.

post 37 wtf are u on about? i didnt understand a word of that..
2 metal geniuses have been insulted in this thread, dave mustaine and phil anselmo. their personalities and their music are too seperate things!! stop making judgement on these people based on what the media portrays them as. yes, mustaine has a sh** personality and yes anselmo said some things in what ended up being the worst possible timing because of dime's death. but sh** goes on between band mates behind closed doors that you have no right to try and decipher because you don't actually know them. the fact is both these 2 have made gigantic contributions to the world of metal. pantera, superjoint and down are f***ing legendary and those saying rust in peace is megadeth's only good album are either kidding themselves or just not actually listened to their work.
killing is my business - 8/10 (bad production but who really cares)
peace sells - 10/10 (f***ing epic)
so far so good - 5/10 (some great songs, but not my cuppa tea)
rust in peace - 12/10 (thrash masterpiece)
countdown - 9/10 (more simple, more commercial, but still great songs)
youthanasia - 9/10 (even more commercial, but great melodic songs)
hidden treaures - 10/10 (f***en awesome EP)
cryptic writings - 7/10 (some good songs)
risk - 0/10 (a risk that didnt pay off)
the world needs a hero 5/10 (some good songs but again not my cuppa tea)
the system has failed 7/10 (not bad for a modern thrash album)
united abominations 8/10 (explosive start to the album, cops a needless bad wrap)
..that is a fair judgement of the megadeth catalogue (not to mention a massive influence on kill em all and ride the lightning, 2 of metal's most influential albums) ..instead of thinking you know megadeth because you've heard symphony of destruction and holy wars listen to these albums in depth then come back. more importantly judge a bands music on the MUSIC people are getting too wrapped up in the unimportant bullsh**.
