Hellyeah To Enter The Studio Next Month

Band Photo: Mudvayne (?)
Hellyeah, the Southern flavoured supergroup featuring former Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul as well as members of Mudvayne and Nothingface, has announced that they will be entering the studio next month to record their second album. The band will be hitting the studio on May 15th.
Speaking on label situations, Vinnie Paul states; "We don't know. We're free agents right now. We had a one-disc deal with Epic, and they're practically begging us to come back. We sold nearly 500,000 records for them, which is practically unheard of these days. That's like going platinum 10 years ago."

I disagree. Vinnie is definitely one of the best drummers in metal and judging by interviews a pretty cool guy, so I for one will be interested to hear what he does next. As for the label situation, what happened to his own Big V label? In any case, good stuff. The name sucks though..

mudvayne WAS a good band, with L.D. 50 and The End of All Things to Come; that's what really defined them, they didnt go with the flow. but now, they're just trying to get on the radio with their soft $hit. and hellyeah is an even bigger disappointment...

Even for all my ranting about nu-metal of late, Mudvayne WAS an excellent oddity in metal.
"Death Blooms", in particular, was a favorite of mine, and is to this day from their collection.
then they released an album after LD.50. It was still good, but it sowed the seeds of what their sound would become, and I cant even listen to it anymore without a slight bit of annoyance.
"The New Game"....made me feel more retarted than listening to hellyeah, and that's saying something. Screw hellyeah, i dont care if it's "just for fun", it's crap, and it's a waste of talent. Mudvayne on the other hand, just needs to stop it, and if that's not possible, just turn up the volume on their bass player until it drowns out the rest of the music.

Dude, everybody says HY is sh**. what do ya'll have to offer? Exactly. Hellyeah is badass. The -lets-get-drunk-and-get-f***ed- attitude is somethign you don't see in metal. It feels godo to tear away from bands that do nothin but b**** about how sad life is. Don't get me wrong, I love Mudvayne, but they're like a wife. You love them, that won't change, though with time they get a little rusty, you do like to look at other girls. Mudvayne and Hellyeah are NOTHING alike. And for those who say HY ruined Mudvayne, take note, The New Game, was recorded before the Hellyeah album. Mudvayne's next release that they recorded at the Sonic Ranch in El Paso, is set to be released soon, read up on it, they said they're goin back to their old ways. So, don't sweat it boys, our "wife" is gettin a boob job,

Mudvayne is awesome but its their rythm section that makes them awesome. If the sh**ty part of Mudvayne (singer and guitarist) want to go make garbage music then so be it. I just wont listen. The only Hellyeah song that is worth a sh** is Matter of Time, which has some SICK drumming.
