Massachusetts band Killswitch Engage have announced that upcoming fourth studio album through Roadrunner Records will be self-titled. The album, produced by Brendan O'Brien (AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine) and co-produced by guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, will hit stores on June 30.
Some of the working track titles for the album include "Reckoning," "The Forgotten," "Light in a Darkened World" and "Starting Over." Vocalist Howard Jones commented on the album by saying, "It was time for us to step outside of our comfort zone and try something a little different with this record. It definitely still sounds like us, but we needed to be refreshed and take things a little further." The singer also comments on the album being the band's second self-titled effort of its career, saying, "When we all couldn't agree on an album title, someone suggested we just keep it self-titled and we all pretty much agreed...gives it the feeling of a fresh new beginning."
Killswitch Engage have been playing the tentatively titled "Light in a Darkened World" during their set on the Music As A Weapon Tour, where they are serving as main support to Disturbed. The band also performed the song as the opening act of the first annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards, which were held on Tuesday, April 7 in Los Angeles.

Their last album was a huge let down. I really don't think this album will impress me, but something tells me I'll check it out anyway. Its sad how they have went down hill unlike LoG who are evolving and still kicking @ss even though they have reached similar spot light.

I don't know about selling out, but they have definitely been mainstream for quite some time now. I'm all for them stepping outside their comfort zone (even if it means being more commercial, I mean sh**, some bands are bound to become that and it may as well be them ). Failure to do so after four albums would be pretty damn disappointing to me...I don't need another All That Remains.

^^^ I think All That Remains sound has changed alot over their 4 albums... Anyways, I don't like how KSE now has a second self titled album, I view this band as one of my favorites i really enjoy all of there material it will be interesting to see where they go with this.

how are they trying to impress soccer moms? They have to pay this producer big time money, im sure there not making that much money just yet, as they only have one album that even went gold and that took 4 or five years(End of Doucheache). Its funny when fans talk about selling out, they dont realize how little money some of these bands make, if you can make a living more power to ya.

AlliedFront- Well said. So what if people wanna make some money. More power to them for sure. Also, whoever said that All that Remains hasnt changed over the years is a f***tard. Their sound has changed over each album. Maybe not drastically, but its improved each time.

I agree with POV: they've been mainstream for quite some time. I remember hearing The End of Heartache on the radio back in '04. Regardless of their commercial status, though, I'm still interested in this album. As Daylight Dies wasn't a bad release, but it wasn't great. I prefer some of their earlier stuff from Alive or Just Breathing. As far as popular rock music goes, Killswitch Engage isn't bad; it beats Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold, so I'll take it.
