Cvltvs Mortem To Give Away Salt Lake Metalfest Tickets

Black metallers Cvltvs Mortem, formerly known as Sonic Devastation, have issued the following statement about planning to give away tickets to the Salt Lake Metalfest:

"If you're free on June 6th and a fan....come see us, ON US! We have a limited number of tickets to the event and rather than sell them, we've opted to give them away! Between now and the Club Vegas appearance we'll be holding some unexpected giveaways, so stay on your toes!

"*disclaimer* - outdoor stage is all ages/indoor stage is 21+ and we'll be on the indoor stage that night.

"Salt Lake Metalfest II! Metal bands galore...indoor and outdoor stages! Tickets $10 advance or $12 at the door on the night of the show. Advance tickets are available for purchase online at www.24tix.com"

Call me an idiot or ignorant or whatever but I've been wanting to ask this for ages. What exactly does "cvlt" mean? What's the signifficance of using a v instead of a w? Is it the Scandanavian way of spelling it or something?

I think the important part is: "kvlt is spelled like it is in order to create a medieval vibe." That was my best guess as well, given that you see a lot of ancient Roman text with U's swapped for V's. You can even see it on some old US coinage.
