Metallica has announced the rescheduled date for their show in Stockholm, Sweden after having to cancel the show after frontman James Hetfield was taken to hospital with a stomach bug. A message from the band reads as follows:

"Oysters be damned, we're coming back to Stockholm, Sweden! Those of you who were at Globen on Sunday, March 8 know that unfortunately James (Hetfield) was ill that day and we were unable to perform. That show has now been re-scheduled for May 4, so hold on to your tickets and we're hoping that you can make it back...we'll be there!

"The ticket that you have for the show originally planned for Sunday will be your entry to the Globen for the May 4th show. If for some reason you cannot join us on that day, please visit the place you purchased the tickets for a full refund.

"Again, our sincere apologies to all of you who travelled from near and far to Stockholm. As a minor token of our appreciation, and hopefully to make up for some of your inconvenience, everyone who goes to the May 4 show will receive a free download of that night's show at www.livemetallica.com. As you enter the arena that night, you'll be handed a card with instructions on how to get your free mp3 of the show.

"See you then!"

That's how you take care of fans. Wether you like them or not you have to respect this. I know it's not always possible but it's the right thing to do. Well done, boys.

Agreed. It may have been the oyster's fault, but big giant kudos to Met for giving those fans something for their trouble. Too bad all bands can't post their concerts online btw. I've bought several shows from livemetallica.com and it's an awesome concept.

Ah, how quaint. We sure don't want to anger anybody. This sounds like an announcement in church where they try to break the news so apologetically that you feel like you are better off for your troubles.

Does anybody still consider Metallica to be metal?

Cool. A free download!

This sounds just like something out of Lars' hole except somebody with knowledge of English deleted all 147 of his "you know"s.

Branded, when did you change your avatar?

I saw this article and was going to post about how nice it was for them to reschedule on such a short notice. But Netro already did. Good on these guys though seriously. A lot bands would skip this opportunity.

I kinda had to say it though. I'm not much of a Metallica fan post "And Justice for All", but to let fans get screwed out of time and money isn't cool. Hell, if Hannah freaking Montana did the same I'd say that was cool of her. Musicians need to look after their fans. Like I said, like them or not they are doing the right thing.
