Metallica has apparantly set the record for the largest ever attendance at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham, England. Approximately 10,337 fans packed the arena to see the band perform. The previous record was held by indie band Kings Of Leon.
"We are always striving to provide increased capacities for promoters and this record breaking attendance highlights our success in being able to attract the highest calibre of artists to our venue," said chief executive Geoff Huckstep.
"Metallica put on a spectacular gig last night – performed 'in the round' thus guaranteeing a great view for the fans - it was also the fastest selling gig here shifting an amazing 9,500 tickets in just one hour when it went on sale - another record breaking milestone for the venue."

Well I do have a PHD, and I can confirm that you are correct in that "in the round" means there is a stage in the very center of the arena, and the seating is all a"round" the stage. I'm glad to be able to contribute my expertise in this matter. Gotta go, I've got a crash course in brain surgery in 5 minutes.....

yeah, the snake pit thing was for the black album tour, it wasn't really an "in the round" set up, just the stage protruded more into the center of the venue. there was a blocked off area behind the stage. They did in the round for one of the other tours I saw, can't remember which album. lots of theatrics for that show
man....I know far too many details about this crap

To Dumbass... IShovedMyHeadIntoABearsa$$hole is quite an arogant little fa**ot, he's a huge fan of the whole Metalcore/Gaycore scene, hence the whole JakeShallPerish bollocks, and being that he's still a kid, he has nothing of importance or relevance, for that matter, to contribute!
DEATH to posers...

I'd like to be an idiot and ask, what does 'in the round' mean?
