Circle of Dead Children to Enter Studio
On February 7, 2003, Pittsburgh grindcore outfit Circle Of Dead Children will start the recording of their new album, Human Harvest, at Steve Austin's Austin Enterprises (Lamb of God) in Clinton, Massachusetts.
To be recorded over three days, Human Harvest is slated to be the group's "powerful, seething and urgent release yet." Circle Of Dead Children wrote the album as a trio and it will be recorded as such, without a bass guitarist.
"Ironically, these will also be the heaviest and most oppressive songs to date as well," explains a band press release. "Most notably, this release will feature new drummer, Mike Rosswog, who has elevated the speed, emotion and intensity to it's highest peak yet. The talents of Steve Austin (Today is the Day) as engineer will be exploited fully. Nihilistic. Dirty. Violent."
In a related note, the band have severed ties with Necropolis Records. Here's what they had to say about the split: "First off... We are 100% done with Necropolis Records. The scene is rotted with stories of people being screwed over by this label. We happened to bear some of that rot ourselves. A full related press-release will be issued at a later time when things are where they need to be. What is important to know is that CODC still own 100% of the rights to The Genocide Machine CD. We have demanded that that it be taken from library and never repressed or reissued by Necropolis Records and/or Paul Thind ever again. For the many of you who attempted to purchase a copy only to find that there are none, we are working to make sure that The Genocide Machine sees shelves and hands again in the future."
Circle Of Dead Children's Human Harvest will be released stateside on Martyr Music Group and in Europe and rest of the world on Displeased Records sometime this summer.
