Burn Halo Sets Release Date For Self-Titled Debut Album, Announces More Tour Dates

Band Photo: Avenged Sevenfold (?)
Burn Halo, featuring former Eighteen Visions singer/songwriter, will be releasing their self-titled debut March 10 on Rawkhead Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).
The album’s first single, “Dirty Little Girl,” which features a guest appearance by Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates, is already getting spins on radio stations around the country, and is in regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s “Octane” station. A video for the track was recently shot in at the Slide Bar in Orange County, CA with Nate Weaver (Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday) at the director’s helm, and will hit the TV and Internet airwaves within the coming weeks.
Anyone who was watching the Dallas Cowboys/Baltimore Ravens football game on the NFL Network on Saturday, December 20 might have heard another song from the album, “Our House,” during the broadcast. The track will also be heard during a recap of the college football season for “College Football Now” on the NFL Network, which will air this week and weekend, and will be streamed simultaneously on the station’s website. Fans should check local listings for details.
Never losing momentum after the break-up, Hart landed a label deal with Island/Def Jam and began working almost immediately with songwriter Zac Maloy on what would eventually become BURN HALO’s debut album. Between May and October of 2007, Hart made week-long treks to Tulsa, OK to write and demo with Maloy. “I knew that I wanted a clear-cut rock ‘n’ roll band, which is something I had not had in the past,” Hart says of the music. “My vision and my brand of rock ‘n’ roll without having to compromise on any of the songs or any of the material. I wanted to make a very straightforward rock album, something that had commercial appeal, but also something that had a classic, vintage mid-‘80s throwback vibe to it.”
Hart recorded the album from October to November of 2007 with Maloy as producer, laying down the tracks with an army of skilled studio musicians, including Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair, former Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, guitarist Neil Tiemann (who now tours with “American Idol” winner David Cook), and Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates (who appears on the “Dirty Little Girl” and “Anejo”).
In the studio, Maloy was particularly helpful in getting the best possible vocal performance out of Hart. As he explains, “I really felt like he was able to grasp what I wanted to do and where I wanted to take this. From a producer standpoint I feel like he really knocked it out of the park. As a vocalist he was able to bring a lot out of me instead of having me go through the motions and just get the part right, emoting a little more than I have in the past. He was really able to pull a lot of character out of my voice.”
“I think this is a real statement album for me,” Hart continues. “Anyone who is familiar with me and my past is going to be able to get this record. They’re going to understand why I made this record and that this is the record I’ve been wanting to make.”
After the album was completed in early 2008, Island/Def Jam elected not to release it, leaving Hart with the tough job of finding a new home for his project. Nothing felt quite right, though, so BURN HALO’s manager Bret Bair formed his own label Rawkhead Rekords and partnered with Warner Music Group to release the record. Hart spent much of 2008 finalizing the line-up of his touring band--which he hopes will help write and record BURN HALO’s next albums--with Aaron Boheler on bass, Joey Sin on lead guitar, Allen Wheeler on rhythm guitar, and Ryan Folden on drums.
BURN HALO’s new ensemble has already been racking up tour dates with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and their next jaunt will be with Escape The Fate and Black Tide starting February 5 in Pomona, CA. A summer tour is already in the works and should be announced in the coming weeks.
Here are the current BURN HALO tour dates with Escape The Fate and Black Tide:

godlike: I am well brother. Jsin started working on the celtic band on my right arm last night. It's looking sweet as hell. I'm not going to talk about the weather here because that just wouldn't be right. Is the snow there holding you up as far as work goes? Iowa was on the news yesterday and they said they are closing a lot of roads there pending the next wave of snow.
NP: Catatonic - Slayer
6. writes:
Bg1- Glad to know things are well..! New ink huh...thats always something cool.... celtic bands are great... I love the artwork..!!
The weather is usual Iowa weather.... yeah some roads being closed.. and WAY cold..!!
Im having a battle with the boss, over some money thats been owed to me for a month now.... Told him no more driving until I get my damn money..!!
Only a few more weeks, and hopefully, I should be back on the road, in a new truck making LOTS of money;-)
7. writes:
godlike: It isn't exactly new, its just getting closer to being finished and done correctly. The guy that laid the origional outline was in over his head by the time he tried to tie the knots in together. Jsin is blowing it out nicely and correcting the flaws. You want I should bring fat Tony over to break your boss's legs? lol.
NP: Dead Skin Mask - Slayer
8. writes:
Bg1 - No need for Fat Tony.... My ol mans best friend is a lawyer.... So we sat down and discussed the whole thing last night...
Just called my boss and told him that he is going to be getting a call from my lawyer unless I get some money... That went over quite well ;-)
12. writes:
While I know how things are lately for folks money-wise, the law is not on his side here. With no form of consent to a change in terms he owes you that money fair and square. He knows. That's why he's cutting the check. At least he realizes he didnt pull the wool over your eyes and is doing the right thing. But damn that would piss me off.
13. writes:
Yes indeed, the law is on my side...!! I was smart enough to make copies of all paperwork having to do with the loads I hauled and my expenses etc....
Now, for a funny update to the story.... just a matter of moments ago, the boss calls and asks me if I can bring out my logbooks and paperwork....??
Seems that he is being audited starting today, and they are going back 18 mnths into his records....
Not only does this guy pay his workers in cash... he does no background checks or pre-employment drug tests on anyone..... so it seems that he is going to be battling state and federal problems both :-(
Glad I already have another job lined up ..!!
Now watching - Humboldt County

Got my hands on "Max Payne" and the new "Hulk Vs." animated DVDs. Haven't watched Max yet, but I will divulge that there is a ton of blood on the Hulk Vs. Wolverine. I think I liked Hulk Vs. Thor a little better though. Very cool story. Plus Thor is one of my all time favorite heroes.

42. writes:
godlike: He's willing to finish the work we already spoke of before he leaves, I was just hoping he'd stick around a little longer because he's cool to hang out with you know? I think he thinks the job situation might be better for him up there. Hopefully he'll change his mind.

I'm personally just dandy. Even though it was my day off from work, I wen tin anyway, and ended up getting a free ipod, my bike fixed, and i found out the cute black girl who works at the checkers I go to for lunch while I'm working, thinks I'm cute as a button too. Now here's hoping she is a metalhead and a drunkard too, and I'll be fantastic. :D
Netro: Beer from a glass? What are you a Nazi? lol
Now playing: Soulfly- Pain

^nah, if it wasnt for the fact that I just try and get completely sh**-faced everytime i drink, I would go for the glass approach. I think it makes it taste better like that for one thing, and it helps to be able to enjoy some "feigned cicility" after a long day of bullsh** lol
I'm actually starting to enjoy the taste of just one or two beers at the end of the day, I guess it has something to do with the ten-hour work days. :p When I mentioned that to my friend, he laughed and said I should just go ahead and get married and settle down and buy a pickup truck, because I sounded like his dad lol
Now playing: System of A Down- Aerials

76. writes:
^arent you always in a black metal kick? lol
Myself, have found a new love for behemoth and the faceless and Hate Eternal, so I guess I've kindof strayed from my prog-death obsession and moved on back to checking out all the super-excellent "normal" death metal bands I've been neglecting.
I evenbought the only medium behemoth t-shirt theyhad left in Hot Topic...and it makes me happy because I can be walking around and people have no idea why i have a double-headed eagle-snake demon on the back of my shirt lol
As ironically depressing as saying it sounds , I'm in a death mood right now. lol

78. writes:
^I highly reccomend "At Odds With God" to you Kali. They are a local balck/death metal band down here. i saw them live and they were epic. Not to mention the music was good too haha
they have a female singer too, and she pulls of some fierce vocals, far better than that Angela wahtsherface from Arch enemy lol. I took a picture with her and hung out for a bit after the show, and she was cool as hell. REEEAAALLLY hates god, but a nice lady overall.
Search for them on myspace when you get a chance.

82. writes:
Try post the link without the h t t p etc at the start :)
Man I wish I could have some beers at the end of the day. I've been on some serious meds since the start of the year and am coming up 1 year of complete sobriety. Which wouldn't be so tough except I live in a student ghetto where getting drunk is just... what we do best :P

85. writes:
godlike: Well that is still warmer than the -45 they predicted for ya. Jsin finished up the celtic band last night. The boy does celtic well! After it heals i'll send you some pics.
FAN: Just sing to her your favorite Slayer love song and she'll be all yours.
Netro: That's the only way to drink a homebrew, so I often chug from the mug as well.
Kali: Gayspace me when you get a chance to.
Cynic: Serious meds? You okay man?

Bg1 - um, the -25 is without the windchill figured in:(
Celtic work is often some of the hardest to do... the boy must have a steady hand huh.?
Hey man, I was thinkin last night... instead of sending a Blind Greed disc in the mail.... why not just email the tunes to me.... then I will just burn it onto a disc myself...??
That would save postage and price of a disc etc....
Watching the ending of "Unborn" ( pretty decent flick...so far)

BTP- Chillin like a villian after doing a lot of spillin (of beers last night)
Godlike- Are you posting from a movie theater? It was 80 degrees here yesterday by the way
Kali- Any band named Infernal Vixen666 must suck. It is Newton's 13rth law of physics.
BlindGreed- How is the Whale Vagina doing?
90. writes:
Bruno - Hey man,... whats shakin...?
Nope, not in a theater.... I watch movies online from a couple different websites.... Alot of people take recorders into the theater and then download em on the net.... so guys like me can see em without having to spend an arm and a leg at a theater or wait months to rent em...
I watched the new Clint Eastwood movie "Gran Torino" a month ago.... and its just getting into theaters over the last couple weeks..!!
80 huh... musta been rough ;-)
"Unborn" isnt too bad.... OK plot.... HOT young lady and a half assed good ending..!!

100. writes:
Godlike- So one thumb to the side? Not bad. I actually like short movies. Only in the past ten years or so has it been mandatory for a movie to be 120+ minutes. I think they used to edit a lot more footage but now they keep a lot crap in just to keep it long.
BTP- I think it's 74 right now in SoCal.
Kali- Was your "boo" in post 92 in response to my post in 88, or to the movie Unborn? If you have seen it let me know because I may see it tomorrow night
101. writes:
Bruno: Whats up brother? Sorry about your fins man.
godlike: That may be a challenge for me, but i'll see if I can get the GQ to help me out. I still haven't secured the disk yet. Yes, Jsin even fixed what the origional artist screwed up. Very talented man I must say.
Kali: I'll check it in a minute.
NP: Long way home - Crowbar

I hear you, man. But after 10 years in Detroit I don't care if I ever see another city again. To be honest I've always kinda felt like that though. Just prefer mountains and trees to buildings and pollution. Although I tend to miss the convenience of the city at times. Still, I make do.

Netromancer- I know personally that for me while I am young and ready to grab the bull by the horns more poplulated areas seem ideal but I can see myself getting into my forties and wanting to return to a simpler, slower paced area.
BTP- Damn, LA to Northern Washington? That must be tough. You went from being to able to ANYTHIING conceivable to...well, obviously you know. Hopefully you at least have forests, those are cool.
112. writes:
Bg1 - Hey buddy, no hurries... just thought of that to save time and hassles..!! Have ya convinced
Jsin to stick around that area or is he still wantin to leave..??
Bruno - I would have to say 1 n 1/2 thumbs up...!! The one on my left hand is pretty sore today;-)
Seriously not a bad movie at all... Ive seen better...but Ive seen ALOT worse too tho....
If your looking for a good movie, the new Liam Neeson movie "Taken" is quite good.!!
Kali- Back on the phone again huh?
Netro - Im with ya man.... give me the peace and quiet of rural areas anyday..!!
mhd101 - schools are closed all over this area too... and already plan to be closed tomorrow too
113. writes:
It is true. My only complaint is how hard it is to get a band started in rural areas. But hell, at 25 I was done with the city. Even as a kid I think there was just something about the upstate NY area that I grew up in that always appealed to me. Everything seemed like an adventure I suppose, sometimes even just going to the store. I definately miss snow. I know alot of you are thinking I'm crazy cause of how it's been this year, but I enjoy that climate.
115. writes:
Netromancer- It is funny, I grew up in a little town of about 15,000 people and HATED it so when I turned 18 moved to an area with 3.5 million people. Having lived in both kinds of areas, there are definately pros and cons to both. All I know is that when I own a home I would much rather prefer a house on an acre lot opposed to a condo with paper thin walls that I can hear the neighbor's moans when they are bonin'.
116. writes:
Netro - oh yeah, the bitter cold sucks... but I enjoy doing some hunting in the winter..!
and yes, ALOT less musicians in rural areas.... but then again... Im a little old to be startin a band now anyway..!!
Bg1 - men will do some crazy things when there is a woman involved... just ask me...DAMN, Ive seriously f^cked up the last 6+ yrs of my life because of women..!!!
Good luck inkin tonight !!

Tell me about it. Having spent the last 3 years in townhouses I have to say I'm definately not happy with it. My neighbor is a great guy and he tries not to disturb the peace, but he listens to rap and what passes for Rn'B these days. No matter what he does the bass thumps my living room. I'm sure my music is no picnic for him either. We usually just make sure it's after Noon and before 8pm.

I don't hunt myself but I come from a hunting family. Mostly bow or black powder. I actually am a fairly good shot, got my first bow at age 11. Taught archery in the summers when I worked with kids. If I still lived at home I probably would hunt. Venison is great and can save a family a ton on groceries for a couple seasons. I actually prefer it to the store-bought, hormone laden, preservative ridden stuff we all buy.

Godlike- That is cool you found the one cool mofo! How far away does he live :) Just kidding brother. I bet they love your tattoos in the Bible Belt. In Southern California 15,000 people is considered a rural town, borderline hick status to the snobs in LA, which is kind of disturbing. Was Liam Niason the guy who played Ra's Al Ghul, among other roles? He is a great actor so I probably will check out Taken. I am just debating Unborn or Gran Tarismo for tomorrow night.....
Netromancer- That is way cool. My grandfather was rasied in Pennsylvania. I love his hunting stories and I also appreciate how serious they take it in those areas. I would be a happy man if I never had to go to another overcrowded grocery store again.
BlindGreed- I thought Kali lived in Washington? LOL
Kali- Just kidding sweatheart I love ya ;) I never asked, and if you don't want to answer it's cool, but did you ever work things out with your Wookie?
122. writes:
BlindGreed- Very true, but who has that kind of luck right? But then again, in third or fourth apartment comlex that i lived in the neighbors across the Hall were strippers and WAY into speed. so you can imagine the sounds from that room. My old lady at the time hated them, to put it mildly. One was hagard but the other one had an a$$ that just wouldn't quit!

Yeah, the "hicks" in the midwest do alot of gawking at me when Im out n about ;-)

Bg1 - no problem man... I hope all goes well.... patience plays a big role..!!
Bruno/Bg1 - I got the joke and wasnt even given all the details ;-)
A guy can learn alot by just paying attention..!!

Hey BlindGreed1 - well that depends on your definition of ok is haha but I'm fine, I've been on some low dose chemo for a health issue that came up a year ago. You just gotta get up each morning and make the most of life even if you don't feel the best.
Ok Kali I'll check em out some time.

Over the years, Ive gotten used to the staring and gawking... but sometimes it gets a little annoying..Ive had my sleeve for almost 5 yrs now.... and it still gets ALOT of attention..!!
Cynic - Sorry to hear about the health issues... Seems like your staying positive and thats the best way to be \m/

Cynic: Chemo is no joy ride regardless of the dose brother. Have the doses been low enough to avoid any red cell transfusions or are you taking a shot from time to time to keep the ole horns up? And yes, we've all got to make the most out of what we have in the moment. Words to live by.

Thanks godlike too - hope everythings good with you!

Well, Uncle Sammy saw fit to give this poor old cracker a raise. It's amazing what $150 a pay period can do. Thanks to the spousal units fiscal conservatism, we will be back on thrack by the middle of February.

When I was a juvenile I was convicted of a felony for strong armed robery but did complete a deferred entry of judgment program. Since I have turned 18 I have only been convicted of a hit and run, possession of weed, and a DUI. Do you think my past history could potentially restrict me from some nations? Hopefully you can shed some light for me, if not it is all good.

I did mean the Netherlands, and you did guess correctly I want to check out Amsterdam. I may be mistaken, but isn't Holland a region of the Netherlands? HEY WIGGLES!
oh yeah, and I spelled Wacken wrong. Shame on me!:)

Bruno, Germany is a great country. We spent 3 years there and would love to go back. Once you are in, you're good, because of the open borders on the west. Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, and The Netherlands have open borders are well within traveling distance of each other. If you get to Belgium, you gotta hit up Brugge, pronounced Brooge. It's not a very big city, but is very beautiful.
Luxembourg is very small, but is filled with really cool people, and some of the hottest women I've ever seen. Luxembourg city is a pretty nice place. Driving is not bad as far as the signs, as they have them in English also. The thing to get used to are the roundabouts.
Southern Germany is the most beuatiful place I have ever been to, and it's just a short drive to Austria. France has beautiful scenery, but other than that, it's just kinda, meh. Spain was OK. The beaches are topless and the water, even in July are frigid. Some guys I knew went o Australia, and said it was F-in sweet. I would love to go to NZ.

oh, and mhd, I'm the guy who was in the walk with me in hell dvd. They caught me while i was waiting in f***in line. And I think I found myself in a couple of the giant pits they videotaped for the Ozzfest section, but I'm not sure, since my tv does not have zoom capabilities lol then again, I'm pretty sure it's me, because for some reason, even though you would think otherwise, I never see more than like 5 other dudes with long blond hair at these big concerts. Every other blond guy just wants to be a skinhead or they dye their hair black, sooo... I'm a minority lol
On another note, I'm too f***in lazy to learn a language all the way. i've learned French and Spanish up tot the point that i can listen in on other people's conversations, but I cant think fast enough in the language to even conversate with a retarted 7-year old in that language. it would be the same thing If I tried to learn gobbledegook. Oh, and one more thing: how do you say "sh**head" in gobbledegook Jsin? I kindof have this weird obsession with collecting the word in different languages. Indulge me perhaps?

yeah, the glorious burden is fantastic - especially the ghettysburgh trilogy. one of my favorite IE albums (and for a brief while one of my fave albums period). its also the ripper's best studio performance to date, hands down. i've got the album cover shirt, which (the art) in itself is worth buying the record.
haha, sounds like you came out ok at your friends 21st. a few months back i got blitzed at a buddies 21st and as four of us were being taken to another friend's place, my friend that turned 21 puked and splattered everyone in the car. mmmm, tasty.

Bruno: Yeah, they made me proud. I'm having a few issues with the burning of your disks. It seems my burner at work is having issues. I may have to do them at home. The one I made for you on Friday was totally distorted and the player wouldn't track the songs correctly. I'm giving it one more shot today and if it doesn't work out I may have to figure something else out.

BlindGreed- No worries brother. Not much you can really do with malfaunctioning equipment. Just this morning I was thinking to myself that I should be getting a package from AZ in a couple days so thanks for the update. I have listening to Christ Illuson alot lately. I must have played to the complete album three times over the weekend. I also picked up the new one from a certain mainstream band that I used to despise. I won't name said band, but I will say they are far from "kvlt"and the album is by far their best one yet.

BlindGreed- It almost pains me to say it, but I like All Hope is Gone. This is coming from someone who has never picked up any of their albums and has never been a fan. It took me ten years to even get over the fact that Slayer opened for them on the Tattoo the Earth tour.

Sometimes lessons like that, are the hardest to learn:(

I think it sad to borderline pathetic that the masses think Obama will make any sort of positive change on America. No real change will come from any Democrat or Republican, those parties have been too corrupted by special interest groups and lobbyists and long ago sold out the people of the America that they were elected to serve.
Kali- Don't forget all "hate crime" laws should be abolished. What a crock of sh** those laws are, just one more example of white guilt legislation by the Democrats. "We are going to create an equal society where every is treated the same, except in the eyes of the law." Fvck that.

Because...guys are stupid. no matter how high the GPA, or IQ, Or how many scholarships they have, they are all stupid. I know, I'm one of em. the only time I've ever had a great, fantastic relationship that I look back fondly to this day, was when agirl asked me for my number, and then told me to ask her out. The last girl I went out with because I just thought she was hot to trot; that relationship is still biting me in the a$$ to this day. 2 years later. and probabaly longer. :P
If you like a guy, if you think he's a good one, my advice is try and nab him first, dont wait for him to go after you. You might be batting eyes at him, but he's probably staring at the girl with the thong bending over behind you. We are dumb beasts, the lot of us, i swear.

Sluts are fine. The name is thrown around pretty casually toward girls who might not fit the norm. They are usually just girls who don't think they need an excuse to act the same way guys do or aren't afraid to say they enjoy the same stuff as guys. I've known girls who were called sluts, and I have to say the reality is usually very different from the reputation. Then I've known some REAL sluts, and I find them to be pretty rare. And those are the ones to avoid.
Now stupid, can't f***ing deal with that.

That is because the first 90 days is the trial period of dating. In that span of time you find out a lot of the other person and decide if the connection is worth developing further or if you if you want to cut your losses and move on. After approximately 100 days it is sh**e or get off the pot time, so to speak.

IN - Some men enjoy being that "knight in shining armour" :-)
Jenny - Nothing exciting planned for the weekend... not yet anyway... Perhaps a few hours of jammin with my buddy the drummer... but other than that.... Im kind of a homebody ;-)
FAN - very good explanation..!!
Its kinda odd, that its been mentioned how cool Phil Assholo's voice is.... I was told a few years back, that my voice sounds like his when talking.... hmmm I dont really think so... but then maybe its the years of smoking besides having a deeeep voice to begin with..??
Perhaps I should take a chance and do some growling into the mic, next time Im jammin.??

Jsin - Im not a big user of Myspace... but Im getting used to it...!

Ive never left the US... but Ive definatly done my share of traveling between the coasts...!!
As for your newest body art..?? I dont have a problem with blood or pain.... but I certainly dont see myself doing anything like that... ever..!! ;-)

And the letter your writing to Chris.... yeah, he should truly enjoy that !!!
Boredom sucks a$$... too bad you arent closer, you could be sleeving the rest of my left arm;-)

Jsin - On my upper left arm is a Dragon surrounded by a series of planets and moons.. ( I just added a snapshot of it to Myspace photos...check it out for reference.? )
I'd like to add a wizard on the top of my forearm, who would be forming the same dragon between his hands in a ball of flames... those flames would then wrap around and up the arm and through the existing piece to end with a couple "flickers" of flame running up the side of my neck..!?!
Damn, I wish I was closer...!!
Maybe, I should just plan on moving down towards Tuscon..??

Well, it's not from the most recent modern stuff. I hate the new crap.. a lot of times, all of this extremely abstract stuff is just amateurish. However, Vartan Malakian and Francis have made some good abstract work. My favourite painter is El Greco though. He had a style that was vulgar but with a great sense of beauty. He was kind of like the "rockstar" of painters back in his time, seeing as how his work was quite controversial.

I played the new one. I'ts a total re-haul of the story, though. No sands of time or anything. The cell shading takes some getting used to. Great looking game, but got a bit old after a couple hours. I've played pretty much every Prince of Persia game, have yet to find one as challenging as the very first 2D side-scroller.

The new Bionic Commando is slated for fall of 2009, I believe. Looks sweet. I played the hell out of the original. A re-release of the side-scrolling one is available for download on XBox Live. Used to play every RPG I could get my hands on till they started getting too out there to keep up with. Alot of japanese programmers with stories that don't translate well. Actually haven't found one I like better than Final Fantasy XII. Been playing Web Of Shadows, Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Oblivion might be a FPS (or more technically a first person stabber if you use melee weapons) but it's not multi-player. Completely open ended, but with an amazing storyline. Play however you want. Went full magic myself and became insanely powerful. Honestly one of the best fantasy games I've ever played.

I stopped playing video games after high school but FFVII pretty much changed my life. Sounds pretty nerdy, but on an artistic level I think that's up there with any great truly book or story which is what anyone who dismisses video games looses out on. The music is pretty amazing too, I listen to the soundtrack quite a lot.

I guess it's not good though, since I'm deathly afraid of sea/lake creatures, hahaha. It's still nice to look at though. Back in Niagara, everything ruled. If you ever go to Canada, make sure it's to Niagara, Ontario, or Toronto, Ontario, or Montreal, Quebec. DO NOT go to Alberta. For all you young un's who don't know what an arcade is, an example would be in Terminator 2 when T-1000 is first looking for John Conner and he goes around the mall trying to capture him. The room that he finally finds John in is an arcade.

I've not tried that whole "jamming with a buddy" thing, because a good number of my friends aren't even very interested in music. So I pretty much just write crap for my keyboards that I leave off somewhere, even though I'm probably not going to use much of it again, lol.

A year has gone by now, and we have about a dozen orso "songs" that we mess around with... about every other time we get together something new comes together... and within a couple sessions of jammin and experimenting...we have another "song ( verse and chorus sections etc...)
The only trouble is.... neither of us can sing or write lyrics... I can play bass too, so recording our music wouldnt be that hard to do.... but it just sucks not having a singer, or even lyrics to build a song around :-(
745. writes:
Alas, I feel the pain of the eternally dissatisfied lust for musical expression. :(
I was tapped as a vocalist 3 or 4 years ago for my buddies band. i didnt even want to, he just came up to me one day and said he was getting a band together, and he wanted me as the frontman! A month into it, we realize my buddy who started the band, the drummer, never practiced, ever, he actually said so himself. The guitarist runs off with another friend to make a differnt band.
We get another guitarist, but I still have no idea what i'm doing. they have me singing everything from ACDC to Slipknot to Lamb of God, and I'm clueless as to how I should be singing or even how to sing at all!
Then that band pretty much just dissolves from lackluster. The former guitarist then asks me if I wanted to sing for the band he ran off to. I said sure, why not, it was starting to get fun. These guys were 100% better and way more cohesive, and in that band I learned the ropes of how to actually metal growl. Then the other guitarist and the drummer become stoners and alcoholics, the main guitarist I was friends with, gets a job that takes up all his hours, and THAT band breaks up.
Now, I just have something in the works that will hopefully come to fruition, between me and another couple friends, we just have to straighten some sh** in our lives out first and find a drummer (the rarest of all musicians in this area!)
here's hoping....
lol and excuse the extra-deluxe long post. :P

^thank you! I might be pointing out something everyone already knows, but the man actually writes all the music to all his songs, and then tell his band to play it for him live. So not only is he the fantastic guitarist that he actually is, he's also an excellent overall songwriter altogether. He's the Xasthur of non-metal lol
I dont care for anything hes come out with recently though, his new stuff just sounds creepy for some reason, at least the bit I've seen on MTV music videos once in a while anyway...
Nice to know I dont have to be a closet prince fan on here, at least not by myself lol

Blindgreed (I almost typed "blingdreed"): yea but when he's your next-door-neighbour, it's so funny. His conversation topics usually are: "the motherland," how Stephen Harper and George Bush suck, the minorities being taken down by The Man, and other political things that are so cliche. At the same time though, it's so funny with his accent.
So anyway... I went to the Canadian Forces recruitment center today, and I was a tiny but intimidated for a moment, but the dude who was helping me out was really cool, and I swear he said things that I'd say. It was really funny. "Yea my friend got into that trade, it looks so cool!" and his eyes lit up, hahah.
Before the trek to the recruitment place, I was at Tim Hortons and I pretty much set down my stuff there to eat and all. The problem was, this one was tiny as hell (people usually buy from there and leave) and there were no seats. I didn't have much of a choice though, considering my schedule just would not allow it. So I was pretty much eating at the edge of a window sill, and then some guy came in and in a joking manner had said to me, "What are ya doing, camping?!" and laughed. I really didn't have much choice though :P Thank the stars for the ladies that let me "set up camp" there. Lol
Oh yea, my mom doesn't approve of me going into the military, so I went during school time. I'm 18 so I can leave without her ever knowing (though I certainly won't make a habit of this). I'm happy though... I got an application package for the Canadian military!

Also, I have a general, non-military related thing I want to ask about. I'll put it hypothetically... a guy tells a girl he loves her, but then when she asks if he was being serious, he takes it back. What happened? :S
835. writes:
^or he's incredibly shy/nervous, or at least around the girl in question he is. I've seen that a few times, but the a$$hole who just wants the va-jay happens a lot. It would all depend on what type of person the guy is, and how well said girl knows him, in order to make a sound call on it. :/
and yes. Our Military spoils the sh** out of our soldiers, but when youre sending people off to fight for their lives and country, it's worth every penny. I have one friend who was stationed in japan in the air force for two years, but when his childhood asthma kicked back in, they sent him home on honorable discharge or something, and he gets both benefits from the military, but also a few grand in unemployment.
My other friend is getting deployed to afghanistan in 2010(national guard), and he gets 2 grand a month till then, and another 2 grand for every person he recruits. They gave him 10 grand just for signing up, ,and a bit more at the completion of boot camp. Bottom line: he now owns a 2006 mustang and an apartment for doing nothing but showing up to camp once a month.
Good stuff.
Now playing: Lamb of God- set to fail (new album is AWESOME)

That guy is probably in a critically manned career field, plus sign-on bonuses are nuts nowadays. Ass-ghanistan wasn't too bad. I hear it's alot better now. My son was always sick the first year and a half of his life, but all we paid was no more than $12 for great prescription meds.
838. writes:
Like I said IN, if it seems like the guy is just bein a jerk, because that's the kindof guy he would be, then yeah, ignore it. but if it's just him being shy about it, and unsure of himself, then the girl could be passin up a guy who really heartfeltedly gives a sh**, but is too bashful an scared of bein embarassed by rejection and laughter to let her know he's serious. the girl in question knows the guy better than i do, so make a judgement call and hope for the best is all i can really say. :/
AP: Yea I hear Afghan is kindof quiet for the most part, except for a few breakout hotspots occasionally, so I'mnot too worried abouthim not comin back alright, and I'm just happy he found a way to get his life started right doin somethin he loves(4 years of JROTC with just the seargent major as his superior and nobody else, and that's for a reason: the man knows what the f*** he's doing) Then again, alot can change in 2 years, so we'll see.
839. writes:
FAN: Dude even I'm clueless on the matter. I guess I'll pretend like he never said it.
AP1: Yea even in Canada there's crazy bonuses... because when I was looking through CF's information site, I saw a $225,000 sign-on bonus for physicians. It takes quite a lot to be a physician, but that's INSANE.

You ask them a question, and it's like they try to do everything in their power to avoid answering it properly. Yet, they have titles like "Master Corporal" and such. What are they the masters of, giving useless answers?

Ahhh. Well, another little update:
My mom was asking me what I was doing at home while sick... so, me not being able to think of something, just said, "I was filling out some forms." "Forms for what?" "I've been filling out forms for - " and then my brother cut me off and started talking about how he has to write a biography on Johnny Cash for one of his courses. And then my mom completely forgot what we were talking about, hahah. Oh man I'd thank him but then he'd ask what I was thanking him for.

Might check this out just to see what they're working with. No harm in that.
