Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has hinted that a follow up to "Chinese Democracy" could be on the cards after finally breaking his silence over the long awaited album.
Speaking to various fan forums and messageboards, the singer said there was a wealth of material left over which could be released in the near future.
"For now we'll concentrate and keep our focus on this album but I will say I've always thought of it as a double," he said.
He also spoke about why the original line-up split and a recent court case brought by Duff McKagan and Slash, reports Billboard.
"What I can say now is you've been told a lot of things in order for others to promote themselves that factually they cannot backup in regard to either," Rose said. "They are complicated legally, financially and have devoured a good portion of my life."
Meanwhile, the band's manager Irving Azoff has dimissed rumours of the original line up getting back together, according to Yahoo!.
In a statement he said: "There are no plans of a reunion, nor have there been any discussions of a reunion, with former Guns N' Roses band members."

Awesome a follow up to Chinese Democracy, so I guess we should be expecting its release around 2025? Great something I will definitely look forward to not buying, not that it could possibly be worse then Chinese Democracy.
Sorry Axl Slash was G n' R. No Slash = sh**

Mmm...the wait was painful, the album was...well I haven't heard it because I've always known GnR were fukin overrated - just like KISS.
Doom Metal rules all metal - Saint Vitus, Witchfinder General, Pentagram, sh** even W.A.S.P who aren't doom metal kick GnR ass!

Ya know, W.A.S.P. did have some good stuff. The Headless Children was a sick album man. Very well thought out lyrics with some great riffage to back it. And Jester, check out Early Man, Torche, The Sword, High on Fire, sounds like they might be up your alley.
As for Axl, we can probably expect a "Chinese Democracy Collectors Edition". But a bigger pile of fertilizer still stinks.

I agree with psythe. If this disc was the best stuff, the left overs must be s**t. I'll listen to any W.A.S.P. disc over the crap called Chinese Democracy. Hey Axl, it wasn't worth the wait. Just do like KISS does and release greatest hits CDs & box sets the rest of your life.

I think it's really pathetic that loser Axl "the kant" Rose just doesn't understand that GNR has absolutely no value or importance now. Just no point to it now which goes for all the 80s LA hairbands (well maybe - just maybe - Crüe might still release a kick a$$ album, but they're really the only one)
29. writes:
deny it our not axl was one of the best frontmen to one of the best hard rock bands of all time, but that was years ago. He really should let go, unless gnr is going to get back together which probably wont happen. Axl did not make gnr nor did slash make gnr the band together made it what it was. As far as his attitude or what he says or does who gives a sh** its about the music not the gossip.

U know, when Chinese Dem was released, I really thought there might be a possibility that Axl has come across something genius or really special (the feeling I got when I heard NIN's "The Downward Spiral". Like it or not, but that album IS special and groundbreaking) but to me, Chi Dem just sounds like a LA hairband way after the "Best before" date. There's just no point to GNR anymore and it's a shame Axl cant get his head around it. For those who'd like to see the orginal line-up back together, I'm sure GNR will soon pull the Led Zeppelin/The Police reform act for like 20shows and get paid some 50mil or something. It'll happen, I'm 100% confident

that_one_guy you dont have to read an article to know that money will make man do most anything. Jamez makes a very good point with the led zep reference. If the money was right you couldnt get that band on a plane fast enough to play a show. Some people like the new album some dont. As long as Axl is not b****ing at my front door at 3 in the morn he can cry about whatever he wants.

I have to disagree on the Led Zepp comment. As much money as there is for them to get back together, Plant is STILL with Alison Kraus, and does not want to tour with the band that made him both a millionaire and a legend. Same thing for GnR. Only Axl would want a reunion, for the sheer amount of dough he would rake in. The rest of the band may have other concerns than money, thusly why it might not happen at all.
Lesson Learned: Money doesnt rule the world. p***y does.
Now Playing: Deicide- f*** Your God

Appetite for destruction drew a lot of people in to heavy metal and caused a lot of them to go learn instruments and make something even heaver and more kick a$$ then them. Then the rest of their albums showed us how badly they could cover songs that already sucked and how money (fame) causes people to lose that inspirational, creative edge. I'm glad they were there to show all of us this harsh reality. That's the only respect I'll give them.

yeah guys, the new GNR is garbage. They had a tad bit of credibility with Buckethead writing their guitar material, but that vanished when Ron Thal's stupid a$$ took over. He's extremely talented, but plays with half the melody of Buckethead. GNR with Buckethead = potential. GNR with Slash = a very beautiful mess. GNR with Bumblefoot =WTF?
Jake.Shall.Perish- dude, Appetite for Destrucion was and STILL IS the best selling Rock debut for a reason, because it kicks ass. Your bias can't change that.
f***.A.Name- I disagree. if you read the press, its obvious Slash wants a reunion. Also, in his autobiagraphy, he makes it seem like Axl is his ex girlfriend and he is heartbroken. You know that Slash stumbled up to Axl's porch one night a few years back? Left him a letter and was trying to call a truce, but left a lawsuit at the end of it lol. Slash is my favorite, but an absolute sh**-for-brain who can write some beautiful riffs and solos. Axl is a genius......just a genius who makes terrible music now.

Chinese Democracy is an excellent album. Axl did the right thing by not trying to rehash Appetite. Its not 1987 anymore. He can leave Slash and the Velvet Revolver guys to make videos in which all the women, real and animated keep taking their shirts off.
Meanwhile Axl has grown to more musical maturity. The lyrical and musical quality of Chinese Democracy can simply not be matched by anything that Velvet Revolver has produced.
Slash badmouthed Axl for years but since 2006, he has suddenly rediscovered new love for Axl. No surprises there. Reunions are big business right now and industry insiders have been pushing for one. Wherever there is an oppurtunity to make money, Slash is always there. Hence the late night visit to Axl's house which he denied for almost two years before he admitted it in his book. All other original members (Izzy, Duff, Steven) have also shown openness for a reunion. Axl is the only guy who doesnt want it because he likes the new direction the music is going in. Chinese Democracy shows that this definitely is a creative enterprise worth investing in.

Funny how all these people who like the raw, edgy sound back in 1987 don't like this watered down, radio-friendly direction. People like what they like, and if you enjoy the album thats your prerogative, but the attitude behind the music might be what appealed to many who frequent this site. I enjoyed a GnR that was skirting the edge of metal and blues-based hard rock. A band who showed that a group could have elements of glam but still be dirty, sweaty beer-soaked, in your face rock n' roll. In a time when I was listening to Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer and Testament, I still liked GnR. These days the band might be more alt-rock but it's lacking the rebellious nature of the older incarnation. So yes, maybe the band has progressed to a fresher sound, but what was sacrificed to get there is what originally drew me in. I don't put down anyone for liking any music, people like what they like, but GnR no longer appeals to me.

Netromancer- couldnt have said it better myself. Their attitude and sense of rebellion is really what made the take off the way they did. It was their entire appeal. You could hear the anger and rawness in Axls voice. The chaotic and sloppy instruments in the background seemingly went perfect together. It was just the right thing at the right time. They weren't trying to wow anyone with their skill set........As soon as they tried, they failed.
gunnergal- for an album that took 16 years to develop, Axl dropped the ball big time. I do enjoy the lyrics of the new album. Axl rose has always been a tremendous lyricist (forget about Get in the Ring, and the recycled lyrics from Madagascar). I'm not bashing your personal views or your personal music choice, because thats all subjective. What I am bashing is the fact that you say Axl is the only one who has grown as an artist. I totally understand you saying that Slash has somewhat sold out, i agree. One thing to consider though, is that in a failing music industry, in this economy, wouldnt you do the same? Money talks big. Anyhow, Slash has grown leaps and bounds since his GNR days. He's played Numerous sessions and dabbled in many other genre's as well, even spending a lot of time in India in 2002-2004 time frame to study Indian guitar. Duff is doing a lot with his punk band Loaded as well. Axl needs the rest of the original GNR just as much as they need him to be consistantly successful.

Except that Axl hired a tonne of guest musicians to write the songs for him, and he through a bunch of edgy lyrics together on top of them.

Oh and for all those trying to label Axl and Slash here's one to add to the pile. Prima donna and has-been.
I still don't feel right about calling Axl's band GnR anymore either. Doesn't feel right. Should have opted for a name change like the possible zep tour.

Give it up y'all, Guns N' Roses have been dead since 1994. You guys don't get it do you? It died before Axl even started "Chinese Democracy", which should have been his solo album instead of a GN'R album. If Slash and Duff ever come back, it'll still be GN'R, but without them, never!
