Yeah this is hilarious! These guys are like pop comic book people now. Their masks are a joke, their music is written for radio (not to mention sounds like junk). Overall it's probably because everyone (myself included) is desensitized to the whole "look at me I'm so crazy" aspect of heavy music. Now when Slipknot or Marilyn Manson try and shock us again, it's not happening because we are immune.
Nice try Slipknot, but Im not buying it.

Not to upset you bodom fan, but the whole damn album is weak, slipknot has changed way to much for my liking. I will admit I was a fan of slipknot up to Iowa, anything they made after Iowa wasnt slipknot I was use to, it was sell out slipknot changing music to gather more fans. When I first started to listen to slipknot it was sweet and the fans were sweet, now every slipknot fan i ran into happens to be the "my life sucks" emo preteens wish i hope one they will hold up their promise and finally kill themselves.

huh... they've definately lost their crazy points, they seem too friendly now, and thus their music is no longer that heavy "thing" everyone whom liked them for. (in the mainstream side anyways...) But the song is really not the greatest, a standard verse chorus verse thing which nowadays to me is lame unless a band can truly put some magic touch behind the songs. Other than that the video wasn't very entertaining either, and personally i wish they went with "This Cold Black" simply because i found it to be my favorable song on the album.

I don't think the whole album is weak, but it does have weak tracks. Songs like Dead Memories and Gehenna..why oh why, have such a great song title and screw it up by singing emo-like. Slipknot is NOT stone sour, and vice versa. I thought some tracks were pretty damn good...like Psychosocial and Gematria - the Killing Name..I also liked that song -This Cold Black.
Not a bad album, in my honest opinion.

Dude, this video left me speechless.
I've been a true maggot for plenty of years now, and could honestly say I'm a bigger fan then all you narrow minded douche bags.
Slipknot is Slipknot, they are completly different then any other band out there, nothing compares. They can make the heaviest song, and the slowest, and anything inbetween, and still make it sound pretty damn good. I can't really think of that many bands who could do that, and get away with it.
Yeah, being the fan that I am, I do admit that this album hasn't been the best, but what could top Iowa? Am I right?
The album has very stong songs that I wouldn't doubt for a second, like "All Hope is Gone", and Gematria... along with Snuff, which I think is the darkest f***ing song I've ever heard.
By the way, this isn't even close to emo. You guys are f***ing morons if you think so. The video is awesome, it makes a good point ...... if you guys had any f***ing intelligence you would notice that.
Also, yeah, Slipknot is becoming a little mainsteam, but personally, I don't give a sh**. Around here, no one even knows who Slipknot is, so it doesn't bother me. Could be different, but for me, its not.
Peace f***ERS.

br♥n: Easy there little one. " They can make the heaviest song, and the slowest, and anything inbetween, and still make it sound pretty damn good." Some of the heaviest songs i've ever heard are slow. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I personally don't care for them because they totally sucked live when I saw them.

No one knows who Slipknot is? hmm wait a minute... that sounds like an insult towards the very band you're defending you idiot. Everyone knows who Slipknot is and not just because of all the radio time Psychosocial received. They changed their style far too much in this album and a lot of the songs are stone sourish. Dead memories was a poor song to make a video for and while it may not be emo it isn't exactly heavy is it?
And Snuff "darkest song [you've] ever heard"? You haven't heard much have you?

IrishMetal, are you a f***ing itiot or what??
Where the hell did you get "No one knows who Slipknot is" out of my f***ing statement.
Wow, I just rofled all over the place.
Dead Memories isn't a bad song, reminds me of a slower Left Behind.
Everyone has their own definition of heavy, and I agree, although Snuff is on the slower side, it is heavy.
And I'll agree again with all you f***s, yeah, Dead Memories would not have been the first choice I would of made for creating a video, but it certainly wouldn't of been my last.
Oh, and Stone Sour is, I want to say, "highly influenced" by Slipknot, seeing how there is 2 guys from the band there-- just listen to Get Inside or Inside the Cynic.
add me, i love slipknot fans myspace.com/pinkenergydrink

Wow when I read that comment I thought oh jeez I made a f*** up... but no. Haha spose it could be misinterpreted but fact is he said it then immediately denied sayin it. But its cool, I just thought I'd draw attention to that. And for Slipknot Dead Memories is a bad song. And as for Stone Sour being highly influenced by Slipknot?
Well you could argue that because there are 2 band members in both bands they would sound similar, but the fact is Stone Sour is used as a different creative output for those band members, much as Murderdolls and Dirty Little rabbits don't sound like Slipknot, and that's why it doesn't sound like any earlier Slipknot. Notice however the large number of Stone Sour sounding songs in Slipknot's newest album? I don't suppose that could be because of the success of Stone Sour in general? Just my thoughts. I didn't dislike the album but it just didn't make me feel yes this is Slipknot at its best.

unfortunately the 2008 slipknot IS heavily influenced by Stone Sour.
I think corey could have done a better job at keeping the alternative in Stone Sour, and the Metal/Nu-Metal/Hard Rock in Slipknot.
Being a Stone Sour fan, I really like the new album....but a true metal head would not be pleased.

No point arguing with her guys. She is more than likely 16 and wishes that the singer from BMTH would comment her back on myspace so she could tell all her friends and then look through old Kerang magazines to find pictures of him. No point arguing with 15/16 year olds because they know everything *cough* Dark_Funeral *cough*
But yeah I thought that (last night actually) Slipknot are a very solid live band. Glad I went. Although a lot of the crowd were p***ies. Just stood there with their arms folded.

-shakes head- Oh god....
Videos are made to get people to buy their albums as well give the fans a little something. I look at this and I want to buy 8 copies! I seriously need coasters for my drinks and a couple of frisbees.
I enjoyed Psychosocial but this crap.

why does everything have to have a label these days. And who gives a rats if it is "metal/emo/nu-metal"?! It is music! Either enjoy & appreciate it, or if it's not your cup of tea, move on and listen to what you like. Why waste your time leaving bad reviews?!....
34. writes:
trigger82 - If everyone left only good reviews, then there would be no room for criticism. Everyone would be buying every album because it got nothing but good reviews. I'm sure you have at least read, if not taken part of bad reviews for a band you don't like. That's simply all we are doing, we have every right to. If we didn't there would be no reason for having comments like this now would we?

38. writes:
Their sound changed because most of the members don't even like metal anymore. For example, Shawn's other bands, To My Surprise and Dirty Little Rabbits are alternative, and TMS is downright hippie music at times. DLR just plain suck.
Now playing: Death - "Leprosy"

Ironically, the band most like slipknot these days is Metallica.
1. Everyone says they sold out, except for a few blind or insanely loyal fans
2. the singer's voice is really different now, almost horrible depending on your opinion.
3. Both bands can hardly even be considered metal anymore (ever heard that country song off load(or reload, i forget)?/Ever heard Stone Sour=hard rock=main influence of the last album?
4. even the dissapointed fans still enjoy them live because they play mostly the old classics live.
Just something reading some of these posts made me notice. :p
Now playing: Deicide- Lunatics of Gods creation

Slipknot did it again! They are so good at this! How are they doing this? They are the best suckers.. Each Song is topping the "Worlds sucking and gay" chart!!! I mean "Dead Memories" should be on top!
the fact that " br♥n "above here loves it is evidence to that fact.......

That is Korn's spelling of the word - Faget. Yeah, Down the Sun, is some good metal. I also liked some of Slipknot's older stuff, and of course, the self-titled Stone Sour album. I rarely listen to the new one, though. It has too many SOFT songs on it. The first album (SS) had so much more depth, plus, it had a lot of great songs. On that note, anyway, I am happy to be able to hear a new Slipknot album. Mushroomhead won't be far away from releasing a new album...the DVD is already out.

i wouldn't exactly call myself a disctinctly "metal" or "rock" or "hard rock" or whatever fan, but personally i don't think there is anything wrong with some diversity in a band's creation every now and again. i mean, if every song that Slipknot did sounded like "pulse of the maggots" we'd all get f*cking bored, no? and i couldn't take album after album of "danger-keep away" unless i knew that i would be in a coma for a month. there's so much change in so many bands these days that i can hardly keep track. and some just stay the same and don't give you anything to compare them to 10-15 years ago... but whatever. the only guitar i play is air, as i am sure is the same for the rest of us. at least they have a new album - good for them, whether i like the damned thing or not.
55. writes:
I agree with Metal? once in awhile, diversity in a band is good it allows ppl who only follow certain genres to get a taste of different bands who then might then convert mwahhaha @ conversion. I like this song. I saw Slipknot 2 weeks ago and it was a good song thrown into the mix when everyone needed to cool off and get back up ready for the next song

Because she seems to think that the sun shines out her arse, and is always right. Much like you. Sorry if it sounds rude but it is the truth. You have no idea what is and what isn't hardcore do you? I guess you must think that every band with a breakdown is hardcore?

Guttersniper: Savior was with a different gutteral frontman (Waylon). I didn't like it as much as the previous work with J-Man either, but there is some good stuff on Savior just the same. All mentioned by TxM is good starter stuff for Mushroomhead. Also, Hatrix (the band) wasn't mentioned either and is bassically the same band.
60. writes:
I think i miss Mushroomhead making songs like Bwomp and sun doesnt rise, even tho its kinda rappyish in parts, I like J-Mans crazyness more than Waylon.. I liked the softer songs in Savior Sorrow more than the heavier ones for some reason.
Never heard of Hatrix, i'll have to check em out
61. writes:
Agreed, although i've never felt comfortable calling what J-Man did rappy. The Hatrix story is a good one. That is where Mushroomhead came from. Jeff Hatrix (aka Jeffrey Nothing) decided to play a double bill with Hatrix and his new side project (Mushroomhead which was Hatrix with keyboards and synth). They used the masks to try and downplay the fact that they had just left the stage. I liked the slower songs better as well, but then again, some of the faster songs were good as well. Have you heard Pitch Black Forecast yet? It's J-Man and friends with Gene Hoglan. Pick your jaw up off the floor, and give it a listen. It kicks ass.
