Victory Signs Between the Buried and Me

North Carolina metalcore outfit Between The Buried And Me, featuring ex-members of Undying, Azazel and Prayer for Cleansing, has officially signed with Chicago's Victory Records after one self-titled full-length on Germany's Lifeforce Records.

"We have just signed to Victory Records," says a statement on the group's official website. "We are all very excited and look forward to working with the kind folks at Victory.... A special thanks to Tony and Stephanie for their help and hospitality. We are anticipating lots of good things to come out of this relationship and we are eager to get started.... In other news, we leave for tour very soon, so check the shows page to see if we are stopping in your town. If so, come check us out."

"One of our biggest hopes Between The Buried And Me signs with Victory Records," mourns Lifeforce Records. "As you can imagine we are not really happy with their decision, but we had to accept it and we wish them all the best on their way."

Between The Buried And Me are currently touring with The Red Chord and Premonitions Of War. However, previous drummer Will Goodyear has been officially replaced by Michael Howard Reig, who, according to Between The Buried And Me, plays "one mean set o' drums."

The quintet are still supporting their self-titled full-length, but should begin the writing process sometime this year. Although no word has come down from the group, it's likely that a second full-length could be released in late 2003 or early 2004. Stay tuned for more on Between The Buried And Me.
