Led Zeppelin Auditioning A New Singer?

UK-based website The Sun is reporting:
LED ZEPPELIN frontman ROBERT PLANT is to be given an ultimatum by his bandmates – join us on tour or we’ll replace you.
Zep guitarist JIMMY PAGE, bassist JOHN PAUL JONES and drummer JASON BONHAM have been busy recently rehearsing in West London’s Ritz Studio and using stand-in vocalists.
And one American singer has been so impressive the other band members are confident they could hit the road next year WITHOUT their iconic frontman.
Brummie-born belter Plant has refused to take part in any practice sessions as he is currently committed to his side project with country singer ALISON KRAUSS.
A source said: “Jimmy, Jason and John are determined a tour will go ahead next year.
“They’ve been rehearsing frequently in London and the band is really gelling.
There’s an American guy who has been standing in for Robert regularly and doing a great job.
“Obviously they want the original frontman to join them on the road but he still won’t commit.
“They will be finalising plans for shows over the next couple of months and will tell Robert that if he doesn’t want to be involved they will go ahead without him.”
While fans would be disappointed if Plant was not involved, the shows would still fill arenas worldwide.

Yeah if their is no Robert Plant then I could care less about them touring, even though Plant can't hit some of the notes he could before he is still the singer for Zeppelin and a replacement would not do it justice also Plant needs to get together stop this crap he is doing with Krauss cause its really bad.

personally though, I would like to see trujillo and kirk hammet go off and form a new band, leaving Lars and James behind. me and a friend were just talking about that a few days ago too.
Robert Plant though, needs to tuck in his vagina and go back out with Led Zepp, or all-f***in-hell will break loose.

I wanted to see Led Zeppelin, lived to see them live, more than any other band InTheWorld 30yrs. ago-then "Bonzo" BONHAM Choked to death in his own puke, and they cancelled their tour-GOD was I crushed;A lot of things have happened to this band over the years(Plant going solo-and I've got all his solo releases-he IS the AGONY&theECSTACY of R&R vocalists)Jimmy Page plays some of the best 12string acoustic EVER,and his solo work is up to par;IF-and that's a big IF-they can find someone to replace Plant, they might be able to pull this one off-I definitly want to hear this'replacements' pipes, though, before I plunk any of My hard-earned $ down-I'm not sure I'd want to see them without Plant(He's almost Irreplacable)

Check out the album "Great Zeppelin", Jack Russell from Great White, can do an impressive job, of standing in for Robert Plant, also Michael White would be a good choice. Why should Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones & Jason Bonham not be able to carry on the Led Zeppelin legacy without Robert Plant, he doesn't seem to really care. These guys aren't getting any younger, & I think if they want to do Zeppelin music any justice this might be their last shot at it and should take it & it'll make millions of people around the world happy to have been able to see these great musicians perform.

All bad idea's.Ican't think of anybody else.I'd hope Coverdale does'nt get it but considering the history I would not be shocked.I just cant picture anybody else.Accept maybe the guy from the FIRM Who's name for some reason I can't remember right now but the FIRM was Zep Lite anyway.

The OBVIOUSE choice, the best choice, and the most likely choice is without doubt Chris Cornell.
Page has spoken in admirable terms about him in interviews, he has the voice, the passion and presentation to pull it off. Imagine if that line up did an album! And zillions (myself included)
would go see the gig. Zep has always been Jimmys baby, and he must be sick of Plants procrastination..the grumbling old man that he is. So more power to em go SOUND ZEP! Ha

BLACKDOG - that guy from the The Firm was Paul Rodgers from the band Bad Company...and lately he has been doing shows singing for the band Queen....!! at any rate... that is a good suggestion..!!
I agree with the Rover... Jack Russell from Great White has an amazing voice and the album Great Zeppelin shows that he is more than capable of filling in for Plant..!!

This is the funniest news I've ever read. If Plant leaves it's no longer Zeppelin and they are just milking the name for all it's worth. it's like if James and Lars quit Metallica... hmm well that doesn't sound like a bad idea, but you get my point.
