Havent we have heard that before. Wasnt that a sample of "The New Song" they played a few times in europe somewhere back in 2006 or 2005. They did say that while neither of the new songs will be used parts of the songs would. Glad they choose that part as it was one of the better parts. still slightly optimistic about the new album.

yes the music will rule on this album, but i think there's a reason why vocals were omitted from these samples. James can't do sing like he used to. he's totally lost his rasp and can only sing clean as a country singer would. I fear that this album's music will be some of the best Metallica has every put out since justice, but that the lyrical content and vocal work will be some of the worst. also anyone who gives age as an excuse why he can't perform like he used to vocally, look into nearly any classic rock band still going at it, their singer can hit every note just as he used to. Why James can't do it is beyond me. I am basing these statements on most live footage i have seen of Metallica in the past 5 years in addition to the videos i saw of the new album where vocals were present.

It would be nice to see Metallica pull off a good present day album (instrumentation, vocals and lyrics) like Slayer did with "Christ Illusion" (their best since 'Seasons' IMHO) but I don't know if its in the cards...Though that "taste" was quite promising.
One of the members once said it may come out like a hybrid of "...And Justice" and "Black".
I'm fine with that.

Wow, the coolest 13 seconds of music Metallica has written in nearly 20 years.
