Agathocles Bassist Tony Passes Away
This past weekend Agathocles' bassist Tony Schepkens passed away. "It's a tragedy, especially when this happens to someone so young," states the band's label Displeased Records on their site. No further details about his death is currently available.
Earlier this summer, the Belgian grinders finished up recording their new full length to be issued through Displeased Records. Named "Grind is protest," the album is expected in the winter of 2008/2009.
You can get more information on the band and check out some of their material from their vast discography on their MySpace page.

F! all of these dead musicians, huh?!
Let's celebrate metal on Tony's death day.
How about giving us your favorite metal band that the rest of us haven't heard of yet.
BoltThrower's candidate is "DARK SPIRAL" who put out one album in the '90s called "DEFEAT" but it was totally beautiful low-production heaviness.

I just checked out SUPERJOINT RITUAL! They're pretty bad @$$. I like. Just 4 the record I love the band Bolt Thrower. I can see U got great taste. Keep the band names comin'.
Kalis: I see how it is...have you ever heard of the band IMPIETY? If U haven't I think you might like them.

Cephalic Carnage is my new personal fave right now, at least until i download some more Pig Destroyer.
It's weird, this article has been up for a while now and I hadn't hought to check it out until after I had recently discovered this band on my own during my own search for crazy grindcore... figures the dude is already dead...rip
Now Playing: Spare Change- "Kill the Silence"

QUO VADIS. One of the best metal songs ever is On The Shores of Ithaka.
NOCTURNUS. Good early death metal band. Best known for the song Lake of Fire.
HIGH ON FIRE. Probably everyone has heard of them by now, but this is a good time to plug my current favorite band.

I have yet to download any superjoint, even though I know I like everything of their music I've heard, sO I need to get top that asap.
A band I'm listening to right now has really tickled my fancy of late, called SAMADHI. If there is such a thing as Melodic Thrash, then that's what they are. I found em through an article on MU too, and the guys actually seem pretty cool cuz they actually started thanking me for checking them out and talking to me and sh**, as opposed to most bands who consider you just another anonymous fan. Check them out on Myspace they actually have quite a few songs up on their profile. I don't know if anyone on here would actually like them, even if you're into Thrash, but I like them and that's really all I give a flying f*** about. :b
Now Playing: Aforementioned band- "Field of Stone"

I'll be sure ta check 'em out...sounds interesting. I like a lot of heavy stuff, but I also love that power/melodic death metal sort of stuff...that s#!t is EPIC man. If you haven't , try BLACK MAJESTY suggested song(that I'm in love with right now) "Forever Damned" or try EMERALD SUN suggested song (that had me at first scream) "Scream Out Loud"
If you want more 'o that stuff, here's a sight you can go to: www.limbmusic.com The home page has 6 bands with a song at the bottom of 'em. You can click on the song n listen to the whole thing! For samples, go to the top n click on SOUNDFILES. Some good stuff...well, at least I think so...

You should all check out Ne Obliviscaris - only one demo to their name but trust me the amount of hype they're getting they'll be on the cover of your fav mag when they come out with a full length. Drummer has fastest feet in Australia and it shows. And check out Lykathea Aflame, who are a painfully overlooked tech-death act. Nileopsy who?
Thanks for the heads up on Hexen O-matron. To F.A.N. I remember checking out Balfor a while ago, sort they were sort of meh. Everything BoltThrower said gets big thumbs up :P

Napalm Death is, well, NAPALM!!! I got some Napalm Death. I don't listen religiously but they definitely have their place. I like that they don't pretend to be some epic musical orchestra. A 30 second song is just that--a 30 second battery of brutal sonic demolition.

YEAH, you got a point POST 37, anyway back to artists dying and breaking up, to me the good musicians either most of them die young, or early, and it's a shame, now to list some artists, Randy Rhodes, die young and early during his career in a plane crash at age 25, Chuck of Death, died of a tumor at 32, Euronymous early on was killed by being stabbed by Varg Vikernes, Dead also died early on blowing his brains out, I can go on and on about all the greats that died, oh don't forget the classic Dimebag, that didn't deserve to happen, the way he died was senseless, this proves my point, i know it's senseless with artists dying and breaking up, but it's one of those things that happen i guess

^don't forget Cliff.
to psythe: Ya Balfor is really one of my casual listens. I found em and wasn't turned off by em so I downloaded some of their better tracks. I really only mentioned them as a save from the fallout boy comment :p
Somebody I really hope gets noticed though, would have to be "Mors Principium Est." Don't ask me what the Est. stands for, cause i don't know. They remind me of Meshuggah and Dimmu borgir, but slowed down, or at least not so frightfully fast paced. They tend to drag out a little in the end of their songs, but other than that, I would call them fantastic. "Sinners Defeat" is my reccomended track.
