Metallica Sets "Death Magnetic" Release Date For September 12

Band Photo: Metallica (?)
Metallica has set the world-wide release date of their upcoming album, "Death Magnetic," for Friday, September 12. No reason was given for the switch from a traditional Monday/Tuesday release, but the band also issued St. Anger on a Friday claiming to reduce pirated copies from entering the marketplace according to Billboard.com.

I really do like this site for two reasons, i get a ton of news here obviously, and i love reading nonsense BS comments and seeing the reaction. for example i used to write "nothing's gayer than slayer" because what better way to cause a feeding frenzy of comments. sadly my comments started to disappear when i would type that.

Yeah this site is so well done that ultra useless c***suckers like you have their comment disappear as soon as they are posted.
Let me tell you something ultra dummer, thanks for b****ing DB, who built and designed that site out of passion for the music. Thanks for b****ing him at a time when the site was hacked by a useless moron like you. Thanks for not not thanking DB for all is hard work and dedication even thought it's a heck of a lot of job to maintain and evolve a website.
And finally thanks for making sure that you will never have any friends on this site because we the users of MU love and respect DB for this and for giving us a home where we can meet, exchange ideas and discover tons of news and new bands.
So you say that you come here because you get tons of news right ? Well read the news and enjoy.

i love how metallica seems to be the only metal band in the entire universe that has their tails between their legs in regards to their music being pirated, and to make it public makes me giggle.
i havent read the article so forgive me for my ignorance but is this the same situation? all i read was involving st. angers release being changed for the sake of tricking those tricky pirate tricksters (haha like changing the release date is gonna make them run around in circles trying to figure out where the new album is) piraters are always going to be around and bringing a cd out one day early isnt going to throw them into disarray. i believe i just found my answer, there was no reason. my bad. and im in reds corner, DB does a fantastic job keeping this site fresh and up to date. its so great to have a site specifically targeted at metalheads who can actually find a place on this big ol' internet where they can share their love of metal music. i think thems all the words what i can thinks of.
