Phil Anselmo Working On Autobiography
Blabbermouth.net reports: According to a posting on legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin's official web site, Philip Anselmo (DOWN, PANTERA, SUPERJOINT RITUAL) has begun work on his autobiography. Anselmo apparently revealed the news to Halfin this past Sunday (July 27) following DOWN's performance in Istanbul, Turkey as the support act for METALLICA. Ross writes in the "Diary" section of his web site, "I walk to the dressing room and Phil grabs me for a hug while The Snake [SKID ROW guitarist Dave 'Snake' Sabo, who manages DOWN as part of the successful management company McGhee Entertainment headed up by Doc McGhee — Ed.] looks on with jealousy. Phil tells me he's writing a book about his time doing what he does and it'll include his time in PANTERA."
Philip Anselmo revealed in an online post last week that DOWN has recorded at least six new songs for a possible new release which may also include previously unreleased material from the "Over the Under" sessions.

Hey post 4, did you see the Pantera Behind the Music? He talked like someone had been beating him up for the past 15 minutes. He looked and sounded like he was on the verge of slumber. He's human garbage but I'd like to read all the sh** he's going to exaggerate in his book. I bet Vinnie is shakin' in his boots right now about what this loud mouthed junkie zombie is going to put in his book.
Chapter three: That time Vinnie Ate 15 Cheeseburgers and Shxt His Assh0le.
Chapter Four: Jerking Off To Pictures Of A Weight Bench
Chapter Five: That Time I Almost Drowned In My Own Puke
Chapter Six: Where am I?
Chapter Seven: In the Hospital
Chapter Eight: Relapse
Chapter Nine: Writing a book
Chapter Ten: Relapse
But I agree with TXmetalhead, even though I'm a hater. I'd still read the book.

He's in the advanced Ozzy stage right now. DId anyone see the video of him crying after dime's death? He is so out of it. I can see that book coming out and then vinnie denouncing him and everything in it.
Dave Chapelle did an awesome autobiography on his show. I would make mine in a similar fashion.

Maybe Phil was crying because he was actually shocked and saddened by the death of his friend? We all say stupid fukin' things that we later regret...especially to close people like friends and loved ones..but anyway..I won't be changing anyone's opinion about Phil Anselmo. Perhaps his book will shed some light on his true feelings. I still respect the man, and I will always love Down. With that said, I still miss Dimebag and his amazing riffs.

Or he could have been in an overwhelmed drug induced state. Too many b****es talk sh** in that band. Phil hated the abbots. Phil doesn't do drugs. Vinnie's gotten lamer-er. Dimebag was Pantera and there's nothing else to it. The rest of the people in the band were just there to fill in the smalls gaps when Dimebag took a break from awesomeness

He might just as well call it "How I Messed up my life and career". Isnt that exactly what he did? He destroyed Pantera and messed himself up with all that junk. And what a great suprise, none of his post Pantera bands seem to work out either. Ok, Down's great. But, with that lineup, it'd be impossible for Down Not to be great. I for one will certainly not read this pile of junk. I've heard enough of this guy already

If you want hate on Phil little kid take that f***ing CFH out of your f***ing name and stick to f***ing Bleeding Through, you f***ing Dumbsh**. And what did Phil have to do with some crazy Marine pulling the trigger and killing Dime? Bands break up, and maybe Phil was completely responsible but if he could of their is no doubt in my mind he would have taken those bullets for Dime anyday.

meh. im so neutral with the whole "phil destroying pantera" thing. sure he acted like a complete a$$hole, but on the other hand, and this is just me agreeing with what someone else has already said, if he hadnt joined pantera in the first place, it probably wouldnt have been the HUGE band that it turned out to be. obviousy dime's brilliant guitar work was also a major factor. but then again, everyone needs someone to b**** about for pantera breaking up, and we might as well blame him cos he was pretty much the cause of it. am i now no longer neutral cos i said that?1 oh deary me
