Slipknot DJ Gets Injured, Delays Video Shoot For "Psychosocial"

Slipknot was nearly forced to cancel their video shoot on Monday, June 30 due to DJ Sid Wilson being hospitalized with a head injury.

The band was forced to delay filming of the promo clip for "Psychosocial," the first single from their upcoming fourth studio album, "All Hope Is Gone," after Wilson managed to knock himself out before arriving on set.

Percussionist Shaun "The Clown" Crahan told Kerrang!:

"Sid's building himself a studio downtown and got attacked by a door knob. Now he's got five staples in his head."

Well Sid does move a lot in concert, he is actually one of the most entertaining guys on stage so I guess he needs to be there, I'd say the only guy that could not make the video shoot is the sampling guy, you could just put a look a like dummy behind a little sampling table and it would look just as real.

Whether or not he's entertaining has no merit on the actual music. I've noticed that he gets less and less prominent with every album. On the first(featuring him), He was like a third guitar. Then he faded to about keyboard status. Then just atmospheric sound in the background, and now I can't find him really in either Psychosocial or All Hope is Gone. And as big a fan of Slipknot as I am, I think it's about time to choose whether they want 133 or Sid, and Chris or Clown.

The masks and number of members doesn't personally bother me. There's nothing wrong with having an image. It seems to be working for them. I just wish their music was as good as it was on the debut and the "Iowa" CD. I must say though, it seems like everything they do seems to end up on this site.
