Why do I get the feeling that this site is torturing me with all these posts. Anyways, I figured out why most of the (heavy metal) youth acts the way they act. See you have these pop metal bands like Slipknot, who pull the whole crazy "im so insane" card with all the breathing and screaming, then all of the sudden it cuts to them singing a f ucking corn hole melody with clean singing going "oh im so depressed theres a bird out my window blah whine f uck".
The same damn thing happens with most of the metal hot topic youth. They wear their guyliner, they put on this image of "im insane and scary" but at the same time they are no different from the next kid whos crying because he masturbated and his father walked in on him.
If that doesn't light a fire under your a$$ you little Slipknot maggots, or rather earth worms (i prefer) then maybe this will. Slipknot is under contract where they are told what to write, and how to sound. Also, the REAL reason they wear masks is to hide their hideous acne!
HAHAHA This band would f ucking beat the turds out of me if I got to say my peace to them. I would f ucking love it though. I would sit back and laugh and laugh, and bleed, and wait...wait...bleed...wait and bleed...hmm that sounds like a good song. Im gonna go call my record company and tell them Im ready to bend over again, and they can push the wooden dildo a lil further up my smelly ass.
I suck chickens and f uck pigs, I am the biggest worthless pile of s hit you will ever meet. I b itch so m uch and really just need to shut up because I am jealous. I also enjoy Count Chocula, and Orange Julius.

AE, that's a complete load of bollocks you wrote there, mate!
Got to the second paragraph and couldn't read any further...
I gather you're just an incompetent kid with no imagination, your post is spam and I recommend the moderators ban your Gayass for posting such nonsense!

See that's what happens when you don't have room to say the typical "stop your whining" comments. I can actually bring solid arguments to the table, and some can swallow the pill while some cannot.
I also think you need to read more so you can actually see that I do have quite an imagination :)
The fact that you think my post is spam, is quite absurd. Again, there is no room for words you can come up with to insult me or argue me. The closest thing you can do is hope I go away. If I was advertising something, or flooding the board with irrelevant copy I would be worthy of a spam title. However, I am simply speaking my mind and making the kids jobs easier by doing all the fun making myself!
I have strong views against bands like Slipknot, and what better stage to display them?

The fact that I think your post is spam, is quite absurd, you say??? Yes, it is complete and utter sh**e, being that its marks the same old bullsh**e every Tom, d*** and Harry who try to convey there dislike for such bands in writing whilst making themselves look as if they've just entered school...
Your post simply suggests in a roundabout way that you wish you could suck Corey and the boys off whilst listening to their new album whilst the clown sticks his fist up your nought... You are a little muppet, AE, who is trying to convince himself that Slipknot = sh**e when you know deep down that you are a f***ing maggot yourself... lol

What's funny is that personal attacks are not tolerated here (according to the mods rules), and look at who is pulling out the personal vendetta and anger towards me. It's amazing how I can toy with you people just like Slipknot's label toys with them.
This is why I love this board. Because there are ALWAYS going to be kids like you who just can NEVER let anything go. Everyone always has to throw more gasoline to the fire, and I love it!

Thank you kind mod. I decided to opt for the membership since I have been going to this site for 5 years. Hopefully now people won't be confusing my name with the A&E network.
I really hope I start seeing less Slipknot posts, but it's inevitable being as how they are one of the biggest pop-metal bands out there marketing a new album.

Although an avid fan of Arch Enemy, that was not the case. I think we are all in store for a breath of fresh air in metal soon. These bands like Slipknot are more related to an 80s glam metal scene than anything. The true metal resides underground, hence the tag for this site "some music was meant to stay underground". This fad and trend of pop metal will always be around, and will never go away. However, I really see the independent musicians rising to power some time within the next 5, 10, 15, maybe even 20 years shutting down record labels. Sounds like a pipe dream, but it's possible.

well, back to the song, i dont really like it. the title track "all hope is gone" was ....egghh aight. i was like i guess it could grow on me, but this song i didnt like so much. i dont know how to explain it, just isnt old school slipknot to me, more like "i need a song to be played in heavy rotation on the radio" slipknot. whatever i guess.

Slipknot is pop, pop metal. Meaning heavy metal music that is marketed directly at a mainstream audience.
For example, Mayhem is not pop metal. You have a very very small chance of seeing someone wearing a Mayhem shirt in a mall, compared to how many people that will have Slipknot shirts, hats, diapers, etc... on. In conclusion, any long time fan of underground metal will tell you Mayhem is by far one of the front runners in the genre.
Without them, we literally would not see certain bands and styles today. Without Slipknot, well we really could have gone without them as they are not as influential towards the genre as well say...any of the greats were (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Celtic Frost, Mayhem, Death, Morbid Angel, etc...). Those bands contributed so much to metal as a whole, while bands like Slipknot are just part of the new (now old) wave of American nu-metal. A genre which will soon be forgotten as quickly as it arrived.

18. writes:
You say nu-metal will be leaving but I honestly think it wont. I have a feeling it's going to last a lot longer than you think, mainly because of bands like SlipKnoT and Korn...ya know, bands that won't really give up no matter how their music sounds. I personally like SlipKnoT, and am anxious to find out how their new cd will sound as a whole, but I can already tell if they go further into Rock/Pop they're not going to stop, even if they have hardly any fans. Look at Korn, everything after Issues was a piece of sh**.
19. writes:
Hutch, i think you are right about the not giving up if they go further into the mainstream part of music. A few years ago I thought that they would give up because you can be intense for so long but after vol 3 I thought that they bought themselves more albums.

btw, u ppl keep thinking slipknot is a pop metal band. and that it has gotten soft. well to be frank, listen to all of the rest of their songs, they have gotten harder each album. and this is the grandaddy of them all. if u dont like slipknot then shut up. dont even say it. just go cry and complain about something else. go bash on britney spears or something, because it seems that is all you know how to do. bash other artists, who u think is a little catchy. so, when u ppl here the new songs, how about listen to them. u might actually learn something.

All of these retarted kids need to stop posting. They're giving high schoolers who actually know something about metal a terrible rep.
Anyways, I have a soft spot for Slipknot because they were one of the bands that got me into real metal. I didn't mind this song, but it's definatly going to be used to get radio play. I thought All Hope is Gone was a lot better.

TO post 15 - that is the biggest load of %^$# I have ever heard....I am sure others have addressed your comment already...but anyways, GET REAL...Slipknot is keeping metal alive??? Are you serious, or delusional?? Slipknot IS POP metal...I completely agree.
haha - too funny

Txmetalhead..... i dont get it? i was just giving my opinion. i never said slipknot was keeping metal alive or anything like that, just disliked the song. i just thought " all hope is gone" was a better then this one. Dont get my wrong im not a huge slipknot fan anyhow, but i do like some of their older stuff. Just sounds like something thats going to get a lot of radio play like their latest release prior to this one.

Isn't POP music just short for the term POPULAR music? So I think that does make Slipknot POP music because they are indeed very popular with the masses of mall metal kids across the world. To you AE,I too enjoy Count Chocula, and used to enjoy Orange Julius but there are none in this area I live in now.

AE .........is so right hahaa!!!
His comments are so strong it makes all the come backs seem weak!
I agree with AE................Slipknot are sucking the Money C O C K!!!!!
The AMERICAN world keeps on churning on piles of Advertized Garbage like Sh!tknot!,......
Slipknot fans are a diesease!

Slipknot are a cancer to metal.
Bands like Bathory, Coldworld, Old Funeral, and Eikenskaden help to innovate the genre, and none of them made it all that far in terms of popularity. Why? Because all the kids who want to be 'metal' go for the first thing they find, which just happens to be sh** pop metal like Slipknot.
Nu-Metal is a creation of the corporations, to create endless armies of little Hot Topic Fag-goths.
