Louisiana based "easy listening grindcore" band IWRESTLEDABEARONCE has inked a deal with Century Media records. The video for the song "Tastes Like Kevin Bacon" can be viewed on the band's MySpace Page. The band issued the following statement about their new record deal:

"SO WE SOLD OUT! HOORAY!! :D

"but seriously... thank you to each and every person who has listened to our stuff, bought something, come to a show, posted a banner/bulletin on myspace... ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. WE LOVE YOU FOR IT AND SINCERELY APPRECIATE IT! We have all been working hard in various bands since we were young as hell to get to this point, and we couldn't be happier fo seriousssss! :D

"The tentative plan is to write in July, tour in August/September [dates coming soon!] and then write more and record the album at the end of 2008! That would put us on track for a full-length album release in April of 2009.. mmmm mmmmmmm!"

Dunno what "easy listening grindcore" would sound liek but I will deffinently check this band out because of the name. just got a good laugh out of that.

It's very, very odd. Picture guys in rainbow colored eighties garb dancing around like the Men Without Hats but doing grindcore that occasionally breaks down into classy showtunes. The video is a riot!
