First Annual Online Metal Awards

The folks over at UltimateMetal.com have put together the first online metal awards, in which YOU vote for the winners. Here's the dirt:

2002 is the first year for the OMAs, and we hope to make it an annual event, giving fans the chance to vote for their favourite bands, releases, labels and festivals (and more!) from each year. Unlike the usual yearly readers polls, we're not interested in who sucked, who were non-starters, and who should call it day - we're here to celebrate the best in Metal!

The jury consists of people from around the world who breathe and live Metal every day - YOU! This is not an industry awards system, but one decided by the people who spend their hard-earned money on supporting the Metal scene.

And what better way than to have fans from all over the world chiming in with their nominations, and being in with a chance to win a huge swag of Metal goodness! We've teamed up with the best labels around to bring you a shitload of CDs, DVDs and more.

We have giveaways from - PEACEVILLE, The End, Elitist Records, Meteor City, Hammerheart Records, Visible Noise, Code666 and Season Of Mist!

Voting kicks off on December 1, and closes December 31! Winners will be announced on January 10, 2003!
