Sweden's Opeth has set and raised the bar with their latest album, "Watershed." "Watershed" debuted at #23 on the Billboard chart, the band's highest ever chart position and the biggest first week sales bow in its career.

Fresh off the hugely successful Progressive Nation Tour with labelmates Dream Theater, Opeth will return to US soil this fall for a headline run, bringing their unique blend of prog, death metal, hard rock and Swedish folk to the masses and more.

Additionally, frontman Mikael Akerfeldt currently graces the cover of Decibel Magazine, which sold 19,000 copies in its first week in stores.

"Watershed" is available in stores and on iTunes, and for 3 bonus tracks get "Watershed" [Special Edition] here.

Damn, Opeth broke into mainstream? That's some great exposure for the underground.

It's definitely a little mellow for my taste, but it's very opeth. I feel they've stayed true to their music, and for the most part I really like the new album. I'd really like to know what everyone else thinks about it.

Good for them. I have the album but haven't really listened to it much yet. Not into yet but I need to give it a chance.
