Disturbed Debuts At Number One On The Billboard Charts
Chicago hard rockers Disturbed have debuted at number 1 for the third time in a row with their new album "Indestructible." The band pulled this feat in 2002 with their second album "Believe" and then again in 2005 with their third offering "Ten Thousand Fists." "Indestructible" has sold 253,000 copies since its release last week.

You know what, I actually kind of agree with post 11.
It seems to me like that happens with any band that gets very popular.
Take Slipknot, Korn, and Disturbed for example. A lot of people really, really, hate them...I've never liked Dsiturbed, and the work that Korn and Slipknot have been doing has been dissapoitning, so I suppose that could have something to do with it.

13. writes:
think whatcha want....poularity may take its toll on some bands & the lessr known bands are hungrier, therefore better....but you still have mainstream crap that flows all over & idiots who know no better & have no taste in music buy it & make it popular...such as disturd, corn, craptallica, slipcrotch & the like....why waste time with this crap when ther is so much better out there.........tiur bus flip with them all....especially the "heavy hitters" "the hardest band ever" slipgay.....really??.....

15. writes:
It's always been that way. As soon as a band has a breakthrough album in terms of sales, they become mainstream and are no longer liked by the so called "die hards" that originally supported the band. It's crap. If bands don't get some sort of success, there won't BE a band for too long. I like what I like. I could care less if 50 million people agree with me or if I am the only one that likes a certain band. It has no bearing on anything. Other peoples comments are just that...it's my opinion that ultimately matters to me.

17. writes:
hey minfukk, disturd sukk & so do you...this is still america right?!?!?....so i have the right to my opinion just like every other deuche bag on this board....just like you have the right to listen to gay asss boy dikkk sukkking disturd.....tour bus flip please....oh yeah, sh**ttfreak, go fukkkk yerself, dumb assss

TO post 2 - some parts sound like parts of the older albums..but it is still a good album. I like track 1, the most. I am already sick of track 2 - Inside the Fire. This new album sounds like a cross between [The Sickness and Believe], even some parts of [Ten Thousand Fists]. Draiman sounds great. The guitar playing is much improved, as well. Just keep on hating - it ain't gonna stop Disturbed from selling more units.

25. writes:
Since everyone has had negative things to say that means you all bought the album right...If not, how do you know how bad it is? I don't have it either and I don't have the last album they put out, and lost interest in the band after the first album. The majority of the posters on this site are posers and haters.
People are quick to talk about streamers (there's a lot of truth to what's said, i admit) but some people hate on certain bands and praise bands who are total sh** just because they fly under the radar or they are the cool unknown thing.
Every band out there is in it for the money, some won't totally sell out but all will get on the biggest tours they can, sign to major labels if given the offer, and sell as many album as possible.

26. writes:
older & better than you mindsh**t, again, go fukkk yerself & yer friends & family......how old are you?....have you ever been in a pit?, played with a band?, stage dove? ....probably not.....but, i bet you do have wet dreams about blowing that fagg lead singer from disturd......fukk off...dipp sh**t

27. writes:
Hey, BrianSD, I didn't buy the album, yet I'm fully aware of how bad and repetetive it is. You know how? I STOLE IT FROM THE INTERNET. I'll be goddamned if I ever give Disturbed one red cent ever again.
And why don't you go tell that "every band out there is in it for the money" sh** to Clutch or Dillinger Escape Plan or Bad Religion. Not every band out there is in it to sell out and suck on t1tties of models for the rest of their lives. Some of them still retain the artistic integrity that made them pick up instruments in the first place. It's a little more respectable that way, rather than being as big as Disturbed is, and, since they probably had to surrender all artistic rights and control to their label before signing their contract, now they can't even come up with a better logo than a fxcking evil smiley face.
tour bus flip.

It seems like the more people that hate an act, with the exception of Kevin Federline, there are even more people that like them. Look at Nickelback, they're the butt of a whole bunch of jokes and look at their record sales. In Nickelback's recent effort they're still in the top 100 on the Billboard Charts and over seven times platinum. They may have a lot of songs that people think sound the same but obviously they're doing it right. In this first week Disturbed sold 252,000 albums. That's great for the dying music industry. Everybody has their own opinions, so on and so forth. This isn't meant to defend Disturbed, even though I do like them. Who cares? Everyone has their own opinions and likes/dislikes.

I personally have a problem with bands like disturbed because once they get popular, the cease to make the music they want and start to make music just to sell. And people buy it BECAUSE the band is popular, and by listening to them you "fit in". (IE listening to In Flames is very hip and cool right now, but their newest album sounds pretty generic, to me at least).
This isn't to say all bands do this; some bands stay gold. And I'm sure that there's some true disturbed fans out there that actually listen to them because they like the music, and thats totally fine. But if you're listening to music because all your friends to, then i think you're making a mistake.
And for f***S SAKE PEOPLE, BE A BIT f***ING TOLERANT AND STOP USING GAY AS AN INSULT.
If you need a replacement word, try "bigot" or "fascist". you're upsetting lots of people who have never wronged you.

hey i'v been a disturbed fan since the first album.i listen to a huge variety of rock and metal so im always hearing this crap about bands selling out....R U GUYS RETARDED?everyone sells out, everyone makes compramises in some way in their lives.people sometimes mistake "changing with the times" with selling out.the first disturbed album was heavy and great, the 2nd one was softer, but even beter.those 2 are my favourite.the 3rd album saw them changing again, but this time it wasnt as good as before, now with the new one they changed abit again.in my opinion the new album isnt that good at all.they try to hard to make the cd a hit that they end up making every song sound more or less the same.i lost count how many times they mention "fire"...but just because i dont like the album dosnt mean they suck or that they sold out.they'r earning a living.its their job.i pay them to entertain me.and if u think you'r hard core cause u listen to cradle of filth or slayer.u can kiss my ass.cause even they dont sound the same today like they did when they started out.

50bmg, it doesn't matter what DEP sounds like to you. Plus, I'm sure DEP could give a shxt less about what people think about their music. The reason you don't like it is because it wasn't made for YOU. It was made for the musicians that wrote it, and that's the difference between the mainstream and the underground. The point is that they've never changed their style to fit the expectations of mainstreamers like yourself. And whether they sell records or not, I bet they've sold more than YOU have.
Stabbing, the idea that Disturbed's sales "help the dying music industry" is moot. They help their label and they help themselves. The label that Disturbed has their hands in the pockets of is what's responsible for the dying music industry. The fat cats running that label don't give a shxt about art or why the band plays what they play. They know it sells, and in any language, $ = $.
f*** the dying music industry. If all they have to offer is Disturbed and Nickelback, you can count me out.

38. writes:
honestly, who the fukkk cares who sells the most records??? .....if you really do & think that that's what makes you good then you're a fukkin fool.....any deuche can sell records (nicklesh**tt, hannah sukkakkokk montannah, etc)....this is the kinda thing that disturd thinks makes them great....fukkkkk em.....there's hundreds of struggling bands out there that are millions of times better who are suffering for their art, who have day jobs, & WHO CARE ABOUT THEIR FANS!!!!...not just $$......................tour bus flip on all y'all.......eat me

39. writes:
Bigstick, bands tour because everyone who's able to do it steals their music off the internet. Nobody wants to pay $20 for a CD when you can get it for free! That's why a Disturbed shirt at one of those shows was about $35. More than the ticket, I bet.
The only true way to make money nowadays playing music is to play it live, just like the old days. Black Flag broke their fxcking nuts to get to a club on the other side of the country to play to 25 people.
And, yeah, DEP did tour with Disturbed, but if you recall, there was only one band on that bill practicing rocker poses.
40. writes:
Crawford, I can appreciate different styles of music and enjoy a wide variety of em, given the right mood. Pigeon holing me as mainstream based on my opinion that DEP is horrible may be convenient but it's hardly accurate. I've been to a decent amount of shows by pretty diverse bands and although I'm looking forward to seeing Max and Iggor next month, I dread having to sit thru DEP's set in order to be close enough see Cavalera Conspiracy.

people tend to complicate rock music.there should only be 2 categories,"music i like" and "music i dont like".everything in between is bullsh**.people tend to hate mainstream music not because they dont like the way it sounds, but because their other headbanger friends will dis them or make fun of them about it.if one of your buddies caught u listening to backstreet boys,u would be labeled as a gay fag...who cares how much money they make, who cares where they are on the charts?its the same reason people hate slipknot, and they say the latest album was a sell out cause it had to much ballads, when in actual fact it was their most creative album ever.and i dnt even listen to radio or watch mtv.all the music i have is music that i alone collect or download.i have my own chart,my own top ten.thats how its supose to be.

45. writes:
rock music is built on the corpses of haters.so please, come on and hate bands, hate them all u want, but years from now, nobody is gna remember the "underground" bands.like it or not,in 30 years time people ARE gona be talking about slipknot, linkin park, cradle of filth and korn, just like today people still honor black sabbath, elvis and the f***in beach boys.

Not surprised at all. I knew this would happen. I am a fan of Disturbed but I didnt even buy this cd. My drummer showed it to me, and it sounded like the same song for 40 minutes. I was sick of it by the end. It sounds way too much musically like 10000 fists. Dave was a dumbass and f***ed his voice up so we will not hear anything like The Sickness (their best cd). The only track I really did like was Criminal or whatever 9 is. Dan solos too much and it's not always necessary. Mike has some cool drum beats and fills. I dont even care about John. Dave's voice just sounds wrong to me. I will not be buying this cd. No matter what's on the bonus cd.

48. writes:
i actually liked disturbds last 2 cd before this one. i heard the riffs on the new cd and man are they boring. im not against them being mainstream they just need to come up with some good riffs. im still learning guitar but even i can play more interesting stuff than this. i dont hate disturbed but im very disapointed as a guitar player. feel free to give me as many angry comments as you want.

Wow..Disturbed's ego is gonna ballon even more..Another #1 cd!!.The lead singer and the guitarist- The two with the biggest mouths and egos--will have to have a stage each for themselves at everyshow...I can hear it now in a future interview...
David Dramain--"Oh, yes we are bigger than the beatles, Elvis, KISS, Metallica and everyone in the world!!"
It's not a surpise we are #1, we recorded the songs, sang then, played on them, even produced it all ourselves--We are the greatest thing since wonder bread! We have no one to thank but ourselves and our great talent and my voice and fashion sense and, oh, yeah, the poeple who buy our cds..."
Disturbed Fan: "Can I have your autograph and photo with you. you're my favorite group!!" (Holds out hand to greet David.)
David to Fan: "Don't touch me, NO PICTURES!!! I don't have the right lighting and only release pics of myself after they've been airbrushed and fixed with photoshop..(Carly Simon's You're So Vain plays in the background--for it will be Disturbed's next cover for their NEXT #1 cd!).But, I'll grace you with one, JUST ONE! autograph" (Signs fan's denim jacket) "now get lost kid!"

To those who think you are funny/cool for saying that a tour bus flip would be great need to have their heads pulled out of their ass! I dont care how sh**y a band is nor how much I hate them would not think their family deserves to mourn their death all because someone thought their music wasnt good enough for them! What a turn off for this woman!

seriously, if you guys all get so p***ed off about different bands, you're no better than muslims. we're all entitled to our own opinion. i frankly don't really like disturbed, but i can see why some people would. if you wanna call me a dildo for that and tell me to fukk off, go for it, i won't stop you, as long as you can actually back it up or make a valid point about disturbed

Like I've said before I liked the Sickness. It was new and interesting and I think a major break for metal on mainstream radio. Believe was nice because, again, new and intriguing. 10,000 Fists was ok. Some gems for songs but about half is rehash. BUT Indestructable is a boring recycled pile of crap.

Hate how every discussion board on this site turns into fans of different bands trying to bash each other. Grow up. About Disturbed being sellouts, the lead singer encourages people to download his music, and i'm pretty sure sellouts don't put on free concerts.

you know the fact that we are all metalheads fighting about disturbed & DEP is sad considering all the bullsh** that is shoved in our ears from mainstream radio . quit b****ing about whether disturbed sold out or not and get on the hannah montana, linkin park, & three doors down fansites and talk sh** to them

Funny how you little snipes are such "critics" of bands. While you sit at home with your wrist sore from your daily loser activities, bands like Disturbed are selling albums. Lots of them. Nobody cares whether you like them or not. Because over 250,000 people liked them enough to put them at number 1 in a hurry. So go home, sit on your bed beneath your superhero posters, and dream about selling 250K albums someday. Then wake up and return to your boring little life.
Disturbed rocks!

So, if u hate them so much why not do something? I don't really like disturbed, but if i were u i wouldn't be whining why they should'nt be so popular. U guys care too much about a band that's probably doing better in business than yours. I'm NOT SAYING DISTURBED IS BETTER, I'm just saying they're making more money than a lot of other bands. So why don't you go do something instead of coming back to this thread b****ing about it. go steal a bunch of albums and burn them or something, seriously, if u hate them that much
And who the f*** are you to tell someone that what they like sucks? either way they probably won't chainge their minds no matter how much u talk trash on a band they like. Stop being so f***ing intolerant of something that's different than what u like.

101. writes:
i aggree post 100, though i've done my share of trash talking, i always think, wow that sounded so conceeded or something. i dont like disturbed, but whatever, they are obviously are really popular; they've sold a lot of CDs. even if all of their fans are thirteen! lol

I think they should yank all that sh** like Soulja boy and beyonce of the radio and put metal on 24/7.
I don't know where yall are from, but in central PA we got 105.7 the X and they play only rock n roll and heavy metal. So props to them. this hiphop/rap sh** has to stop. It's polluting the radio.
