Veteran San Francisco Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT will be the featured artist on MTV for an entire week later this spring as part of the channel's "52/52" campaign. Performances — including footage shot this past Wednesday (April 2) on the Alcatraz Island (more commonly known simply as Alcatraz) and video material that will be filmed at this Sunday's (April 6) concert at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City — along with interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage will air throughout the week.

MTV's "52/52" is a brand new way for the channel to give unprecedented exposure to unsigned artists, indie bands, and established acts on major labels in a completely new and innovative way. MTV handpicks one band/artist per week for the entire year and gives them the equivalent of roughly 11 hours of on-air commercial time per week on the channel.

As previously reported, TESTAMENT will answer your questions live on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hard Attack on Monday, April 7 between 12:00 p.m. (noon) and 1:00 p.m. EST.

Tune in for your chance to talk to resurrected metal gods Chuck Billy, Alex Skolnick, Eric Peterson, Greg Christian and Paul Bostaph as they proudly step into the Sirius studios to debut tracks off their forthcoming masterpiece, "The Formation of Damnation", due on April 29 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Get your questions and comments ready NOW and good luck getting through when you get the toll-free number to speak to your metallic heroes in TESTAMENT!

I'm sure glad they clarified that Alcatraz Island was the same as Alcatraz or I'd be left in a state of confusion.

When is the album coming out?!

looks like mtv is following the trends again. when rock was popular in the 80s, mtv aired rock videos. then when gangsta rap made all the dumbass wiggers come out of the closet they switched to rap, then its reality tv, now it looks like metal is comin around to their attn. MTV, PLEASE JUST DIE. YOU ARE ALL A BUNCH OF FAKE a$$ B1TCHES THAT SUCK a$$ ANYWAYS.

If you haven't already, check out our interview with Eric Peterson at www.contrabandcandy.com - Top band , top geezer, Testament have been through it and deserve all the respect that's due. I agree, DamnedChick, true fans need to actually BUY 'The Formation Of Damnation' . As for MTV - well at least this is music again and not some lame-ass '(un)reality' celeb-fest bullsh** that they are obsessed with. If they want to change back to doing what they should be doing, Im all in favour!!
