Sweden's Hearse have completed their new album, Dominion Reptilian
Sweden's Hearse, featuring current NonExist vocalist Johan Liiva (ex-Arch Enemy) and ex-Furbowl drummer Max Thornell, have finished recording their debut album, Dominion Reptilian, at Stockholm-based Dog Pound Studios (Entombed, Terra Firma)
Dominion Reptilian was recorded over a four week period with technician Jonas Elder, and is described, by the band of course, as "old Furbowl vibe with a touch of Merciful Fate." The sound was achieved due to Liiva and Thornell's previous working relationship in Furbowl, while guitarist Mattias Ljung brought in the Merciful Fate leanings.
Dominion Reptilian should see the light of day sometime in late 2002 or early 2003.
Exclaimed Hammerheart Records over Dominion Reptilian: "Hearse is melody! Hearse is that remarkable voice! Hearse is tight drums! Hearse is great riffs with killer solos! What more do we want from a Metal band?"
So far, four song titles have been revealed: "Cosmic Daughter," "Rapture in Twilight," "End of Days" the title track and a cover of Pet Shop Boys "It's A Sin."
In similar Hearse news, the band will release a teaser 7" through Hammerheart containing two exclusive tracks "Torch" and "Avalon." The label has confirmed that the 7" is strictly limited to 500 copies, so fans of Liiva's work should get to work now if they're to secure one.
