AC/DC To Record In Vancouver This Week?
According to a BW&BK source, Aussie hard rock legends AC/DC landed in Vancouver, BC last night (March 1st) to commence work on their anxiously-awaited new album. The band's last album, 2000's Stiff Upper Lip, was recorded at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC with George Young (Angus and Malcolm Young's older brother) and engineered/mixed by Mike Fraser (METALLICA, AEROSMITH, VAN HALEN) - perhaps the team set to work on the band's new material?

Kalis.... your parents seen them with their second singer...Bon Scott.... their first singer was a dude named Dave Evans... he wasnt with them very long though... actually he left just before- High Voltage was recorded... there is some footage on Youtube of the original singer with em doing "Can I sit next to you girl".. the guy looks like an idiot... shouldve been part of the Bay City Rollers
At any rate.. I didnt get a chance to see em with Bon... my first AC/DC concert was the Fly on the Wall tour... YES...a most excellent show... those boys bring their A game to every show... I have seen them a total of 4 times and every time was fantastic..!!

I heard from an old friend that there is a conspiricy as to the death of an AC/DC singer. Something about one or more of the members murdering him? I dont know if it is true or not nor did I do any research into it. Mayhaps my Mum ment their first true singer to tour and such? Mayhaps she is not aware of the other? Unlike me she does not delve into the history of bands like I do. My padre does to alot of degree. Sent ya an email by the way Godlike.

never heard of a "conspiracy" or him being murdered... the story was that he crawled into the back seat of a car to sleep off his drunkiness.... it was extrememly cold being that it was Feb. and he wasnt dressed for it...!! yeah he may have choked and basically drowned but the freezing cold didnt help matters..!! at any rate....a horrible way to go...!!
yeah Kalis, I got your email... just havent answered yet..!!! reply will be on its way soon...??

Haha this is where I tease a band I love. Young is an awesomd guitiarist, but god damn! Man is fugly! So is the rest of the band, but oh well. Not every great musician looks as good as Hellhammer! My Mum and Dad at the show would rock indeed! I was angry when my sis screwed them out of Paige Plant tix just because she did not want to have them there! Then again it was her loss. I happily spent my 21st bday with them and had a blast!

hahahaha....yeah there has never been a requirement to be good lookin to be in a band....
ever think, this is why ugly guys start playing an instrument.... they need some way to obtain a hot girlfriend without owning an expensive car... hell, thats why I started playing...!!

If they do tour I've promised my eight year old cousin I'll take him to see them. Good to know that rock and roll knows no age limits! Plus they're the one band left that I really really have to see before I die. I've seen everyone else I've REALLY wanted to see. Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead and even the original Black Sabbath lineup amongst many other bands.

^you mean, take the same generic hard rock riff, put blues licks over the top of it, copy/paste it 12 times (one for each song) and then re-release the album every 4 or so years? nah.
i do like ac/dc, but they're not even trying to be creative any more. im with cruor on this, we dont need another ac/dc album....the tours alone will do!

Well it would be great to see whats up their sleves in my opinion. If anything it will bring about a tour and the chance to see them live would be worth it. When it comes to the older bands that I have not gotten the chance to see live yet it makes me happy to hear they are recording because that means a tour and a chance to be able to say "I got to see em live!"

^Are you kidding? I have TOO much AC/DC right now, I can never listen to a full AC/DC cd because each song sounds the bloody f***ing same. Yet I own DDDDC, HtH, BiB, FTATRWSY, and the Razors Edge. The ultimate AC/DC album would have been to put the title track to all of these cds plus TNT, Thunderstruck, Hells Bells, You Shook Me All Night Long, and Girls Got Rhythm and just stopped recording. Maybe an ep for Beatin Round the Bush, High Voltage, Jailbreak, Shoot to Thrill, Have A Drink on Me, Big Balls, Touch Too Much, Night Prowler and Money Talks

Cruor. Think of it this way. How much better would the show be if they blasted somethin that you had never heard at you instead of just playin the same thing over and over again at every show. I myself have never been to a show, although wanting to go to VH next month or Tom Petty on my birthday, and me and my friend are gonna try to see AC/DC if they go on tour in US. Considering the fact im only 13 however, I don't think my chances are so great. If anyone knows any persuasive things I could do to get my mom/dad to let me go, let on lol.

^I've been down that road, the thing that works best is hope that the show is on a weekend night and spend the night at a friends house who is going and whose parents are cool with the fact that your parents aren't cool with you going.
AC/DC is one of those bands that when I go to a show I want to rock out to the songs that I know man. I like jam bands who just rip something completely different than their material on stage but not for something like AC/DC but thats just me.

cool parents are hard to find...
I grew up with a mom that would buy the tickets and even drive me and my brother to the concerts...until he was old enough to take the car.. then it was loud tunes, weed and beers all the way there... First concert without mom..? AC/DC - Fly on the Wall in '85..
Yngwie Malmsteen was the opening act... ...hows that for an odd combination..?
Seen em again on the Blow Up your Video tour in '88.... yeah, the odd tour without Malcom Young...the nephew Stevie Young played rythym for that tour..
I dont know as that I would buy a new AC/DC album though... I have the entire collection up through The Razors Edge... Hell, I quit buying em cause they all sound alike anyway..!!

A few post talk about how acdc has not put out new albums, and that this would keep some from from seeing them etc. funny, I have not seen a new album from the Beatles, zep, (I know some members are dead) and others, but I bet they still near the same radio/net air time as many new bands through out the world. It just goes to show you, that when you have one of the greatest bands in history, thier music can go on for years, and transcend many generations. I dont think someone like myself, that was in their teens in the 80,s, and held ACDC as my favorite band, would ever get sick of songs like Gone Shootin--- listening to it now>>>>>>>>>>>>>

My parents let me go to two RockFests and that was pretty much it and for them it was being generouse. They themselves went to shows as teens, but I think it in alot of ways gave them a bit too much insight into what goes on at rock/metal gigs. In some ways I resent it, but in other ways glad they cared enough not to let me go to the ones I really wanted to go to. In truth and hindsight being 20/20 I was way too trusting at that age and for a teen girl bad things could have happened to me. Had I been a teen boy the chances would be far less. When/if I have a little girl would have the same care and caution, but would let her go under the condtion that either I or her father (hopefuly he will be my husband) accompany her.

It's kinda hard to do that when I make about < $28 a week (job hours getting cut back and all) and I have to pay $70 a month in insurance. Besides I have a larger interest in seeing Rush so I've already got a pile dedicated to that, it only has $12 in it though. But than again this AC/DC show could be same time next year when I have a fulltime job going. One can only hope.

Vancouver BC is the place to record for many bands......The guys are now in Vancouver at the Warehouse Studio in Gastown laying down a bunch of tracks that Angus and Malcom have been collaborating for the last few years....The band has a lot of material this time around.....If you hang out in the Gastown area of the city.. I'm sure you will catch a glimpse of these guys....I've seen this band many, many times since my first time June 16th 1980, I believe a couple of weeks before Back In Black was even released to the general public.....Can't wait for another world tour from this band....The band never disappoints and leaves everyone with a smile....throw your first in the air for AC DC......\../. .\../

I am willing to pay almost any price, when and if, they tour. They were my favorite band growing up, and I had many chances to see them, but never did. Now I am older, with more money at hand, and nothing will stop me from seeing them, if they do tour. Never know, I may be the last...............
