Testament has revealed the cover artwork and track listing of their forthcoming album, "The Formation of Damnation", due in North America on April 29 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band recorded the effort in part with producer Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE) at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California.

"The Formation of Damnation" track listing:

01. For The Glory Of
02. More Than Meets The Eye
03. The Evil Has Landed
04. Formation Of Damnation
05. Dangers of The Faithless
06. The Persecuted Won't Forget
07. Henchman
08. Killing Season
09. Afterlife
10. F.E.A.R.
11. Leave Me Forever

"The album is very traditional-sounding," guitarist Eric Peterson recently told Decibel magazine. "The ideology of what we're doing is like 'The Legacy' [1987]. But the musicianship's a lot better, so it's like 'The Gathering' [1999]. As most bands record their first, second and third albums, they're developing, developing, developing… until they've got their sound. Then they get worse. As a rule, you get good when you're starving and start slipping as soon as you're eating well. We never really made it to the big time. But, then again, we didn't fail. Because we've always been on that borderline, we've never had to make the kinds of compromises that end up killing so many bands. As we see it, we're better off doing what we do best, especially since things seem to have turned full circle. Kids even have long hair again."

TESTAMENT recently recruited Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, EXODUS, FORBIDDEN, SYSTEMATIC) to play the drums on new CD. The group was previously rehearsing and writing new material with British drummer Nick Barker (CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR), but Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and international work visa issues have prevented Barker from continuing to be involved in the project.

Bostaph, who was a member of TESTAMENT for a brief period starting around February 2004, had previously played several live dates with the group in 1992 and appeared on the band's 1993 live EP, "Return to the Apocalyptic City". He also toured with TESTAMENT in 2006.

That album cover is insanity! I've always looked to Testament as pioneers of Bay Thrash. I think they undermine their status. Love them all the more! \m/ \m/

Its been far too long.

With Andy Sneap producing the sound quality should be pretty good too. As much as I love Testament I always thought the guitar sound/distortion on their albums was way to weak.

Nice to see a few people participating in that Stone Cold style praise of Testament!
I reckon this will be Testament's highest charting and best sounding album yet. Due to the rise in thrash's popularity and such. Kids are eager to experience old school thrash from the masters and who better to hear it from?! Testament are just gods.

.... And that's the bottom line!

Well, I'm not majorly impressed with it but in all fairness, he doesn't do a bad impersonation lol. Also Stone Cold himself said he quite enjoys it and doesn't mind that someone's making a living by impersonating him so that's fine by me. The problem for Shark Boy is, if he wants to establish himself as a wrestler, it's gonna be hard 'cause he'll always be known for using someone elses' gimmick.

More on TNA that I'm concerned about is the Heavyweight title scene. I like Kurt Angle as much as the next guy but I would really like to see someone else have a run with the title now. I was very disapointed that Christian Cage didn't win at Against All Odds.

Have you seen the Big Show now?! Man he lost so much weight, he looks all round awe inspiring now!

... And that's all I got ta say about that!

Yeah I saw Big Show on RAW and damn, I don't think he can call himself the largest athlete in the world anymore.

When Shark Boy started the impersonation when he was in that bed I seariously thought it was Ausitin in a mask, thats how good he is doing the impersonation, but it is a searious lack of creativity on Russo or whoever's idea it was and Shark Boy should definetly work on his own Shark gimmick.

Heavyweaight scene, I also was disappointed when Cage lost to Angle as I think he is a bit more deserving of the title but for some reason due to the triangle with Kurt's wife I see AJ Styles being the next champion; atleast the next challenger.

Did you hear that TNA dropped Raven?? Atleast Rhino is back.

I've just heard one of these new songs, "More Than Meets The Eye". It slays! The new album is gonna be well worth the wait if that song is anything to go by!

With regards to TNA, yes I had heard that Raven wasn't working with TNA anymore. He's opening up a school though so at least something comes out of it. And yeah it's good to have Rhino back! I reckon they're gonna set Samoa Joe up to be the next challenger, maybe even champion. A submission match between Angle and Joe would be awesome.
