Ihsahn's New Album, "angL," In Final Mixing Stages
MNEMOSYNE PRODUCTIONS/CANDLELIGHT RECORDS are happy to announce that a second IHSAHN album is set for release this spring. The album is titled "angL."
"I'm currently doing the final mixes for this album, and hope to have everything ready for mastering within a couple of weeks", says IHSAHN. "Musically this album can be seen as a natural progression from "The Adversary," but with a somewhat heavier touch," he continues.
The actual release date of "angL" has yet to be announced.

Grimen, Peccatum, Thou Shalt Suffer, Emperor, solo albums, everything this man touches just turns to absolute gold. Other than Watershed this is the album I'm most looking forward to getting my hands on this year. Now if we could just get Ihsahn to collaborate on an album with Opeth, or hell just even tour with them, the universe would implode from sheer awesomeness.

Cynic: There are two Thou Shalt Suffer albums available that I'm aware of, Somnium and Into the Woods of Belial. I've only heard Somnium, which is almost entirely keyboards. Into the Woods of Belial is supposed to be more like early Emperor or the other "kvlt" black metal bands with "necro" (read: bad) production, so I haven't mustered the courage to shell out cash for it yet. Somnium is pretty awesome though, with a creepy gothic atmosphere that still manages to sound heavy in parts even without guitars. It's kind of like what IX Equilibrium or Prometheus would sound like if they had been written entirely with the keyboard in mind.

Sweet, I like classical stuff and don't mind keyboard stuff like Mortiis or Burzum. Early Emperor production is incredible I think, the recording of "I Am The Black Wizards" on Nightside Eclipse doesn't do the song justice compared to the Wrath Of The Tyrant/Emperor version.
Now Playing: Aggression - "The Final Massacre"

Heavier touch - nice. Weird name but as long as the musics good I'll be happy. After listening to "Curse You All Men!" it's hard not to like the heavier Ihsahn.
Now Playing: Bal-Sagoth - "Shackled to the Trilithon of Kutulu"
