CHILDREN OF BODOM fan site Scythes Of Bodom has unveiled the cover artwork for the group's forthcoming album, "Blooddrunk", due in Europe on April 7, 2008 via Spinefarm Records (two days later in Finland). Check it out at this location.

"Blooddrunk" was recorded and produced by Mikko Karmila at Petrax and Finnvox studios in Finland during October, November and December 2007, except vocals, which were recorded by Peter Tägtren, and keyboards, which were recorded by Janne Wirman at Petrax studios, Finland, during October, November and December 2007. The CD was mixed at Finnvox by Mikko Karmila in November 2007 and it was mastered at Finnvox by Mika Jussila in December 2007.

"Blooddrunk" track listing:

01. Hellhounds On My Trail
02. Blooddrunk
03. LoBodomy
04. One Day You Will Cry
05. Smile Pretty For The Devil
06. Tie My Rope
07. Done With Everything, Die For Nothing
08. Banned From Heaven
09. Roadkill Morning

CHILDREN OF BODOM will release a new single, "Blooddrunk", in Finland on February 27, 2008 (March 3 in the rest of Europe).

The band recently traveled to Germany to film two videos, both of which were produced by Katapult Filmproduktion.

Speaking to Revolver magazine, CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho stated about the songwriting process for "Blooddrunk", "This time we wanted to make things more difficult. So I've been including some progressive sounds. Not in an annoying way, though; if we do progressive music, we want people to actually listen to it. We won't become a DEPECHE MODE cover band. If we ever get tired of playing metal. That's the end of CHILDREN OF BODOM."

He added, "We rehearsed all day, then I'd come home and start fucking around with the guitar and a four-track until 6 a.m. Then I'd wake up and do it all again until I was completely wrecked. This time it was really laid back, and that allowed me to be more creative."

According to an article in the November 2007 issue of the Finnish magazine Soundi, CHILDREN OF BODOM laid down cover versions of the following songs during the recording sessions for "Blooddrunk":

"War Inside My Head" (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES)
"Lookin' Out My Back Door" (CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL)
"Just Dropped In" (KENNY ROGERS)
"Ghost Riders In The Sky" (STAN JONES)

CHILDREN OF BODOM will join MEGADETH, IN FLAMES, JOB FOR A COWBOY and HIGH ON FIRE for this year's Gigantour in North America.

Two songs from CHILDREN OF BODOM — "Angels Don't Kill" and "In Your Face" — are featured on the "Unholy Alliance Tour" DVD, which was released on October 30, 2007 via American Recordings. The set features the the "Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching to the Perverted" lineup — SLAYER, LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED. The DVD has an approximate running time of 90 minutes.

The "Unholy Alliance Tour" DVD was shot at Vancouver's General Motors Place on July 13, 2006, was directed by Adam Rothlein (Speedway Films), and boasts performance footage plus bonus material to include backstage, behind-the-scenes and one-on-one interviews, many of which were conducted by the Unholy Alliance artists themselves

That kind of metal band is also the best one there is! And yeah, they cover everybody, Britney Spears, Stan Jones, Kenny Rogers, Andrew W.K., The Scorpions, and the almighty Iron Maiden! all hail!.

Anyway, pretty badass new album cover if you ask me. My only hope for Blooddrunk is that it's better than Are You Dead Yet?, the chances of them making another Hatebreeder or Follow The Reaper are slim to none.

Badass album cover. And on a side note, I don't know why people say "Ohh, I hope it's better than AYDY." I thought that album kicked ass.

AYDY isn't a bad album on the whole. It's just plagued with a few crappy songs and the potential for Bodom to disappoint if they continue down the path some songs took on AYDY. That's why we say it.

Art is subjective men, dont forget that. I think Follow the Reaper best thus far. I do want to know what these men use in their hair too. I think it looks great. Sorry, but I am a woman who wants to know these things.

^Awesome like anyone really gives a sh**.

My favorite album was actually Something Wild followed very closely by Hatebreeder. Are You Dead Yet? had some of their best songs (Living Dead Beat, Trashed Lost & Strungout, If You Want Peace... Prepare For War, title track, and In Your Face) while the rest were either mediocre at best (all the other COB albums had no mediocrety to it whatsoever) or just plane sucked (Next In Line)

^*rolls eyes and shakes head* One day you will learn that stupidity and ignorance will land you in prison. I have seen it happen before. At the very least you are not saying you are a Satanist and raceist. Benching 450 does not keep you alive either or make you any more deadly.

Ahahahahahaha! You are funny. I am a woman for one and for a raceist you sure sound like a black man straight from the ghetto. Also, you may want to think twice about threatening me. You may want to quit playing football as I think its killing your brain cells. You seem to need what little you have.

My votes on Hatebreeder as well. Perfect balance of black, power, and progressive music. The keyboard intro of Black Widow, swampy as all hell, I love it.
