Charger inks deal with Peaceville Records

Peaceville Records have welcomed their third new signing for 2002 by welcoming Stoke's Charger to the roster.
Described as "down-tuned, fuzzed-up, megatronic slabs of distorted noize," Charger are currently holed up at Mighty Atom Studios in Swansea, Wales with legendary producer Billy Anderson (Clutch, Brutal Truth, Neurosis), where the band are recording the as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2000's The Foul Year Of Our Lord.

Explained Charger's previous label Undergroove Recordings: "Charger are off to a great new home, and Peaceville are a label based on the same hardcore punk ethics, so they'll feel right at home! Onwards and upwards, let the foulness continue! We're chuffed as fuck!"

"We've been fans of the band for the last couple of years and when the opportunity arose to sign them we knew there'd be a lot of interested parties involved," explained Peaceville excitedly. "To actually come out on top and have one of the best U.K. acts grace our label's roster feels even better than finding a BMX at the bottom of the bed on Christmas morning, aged 12!"

Charger will celebrate the signing by performing a Halloween gig at the Marquee in London with labelmates The Great Deceiver headlining at their first ever U.K. gig.
