Cannibal Corpse Want To Enter Studio In September

CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster has issued the following update:
"My wife and I will be attending the NAMM show in Anaheim next week, so if any of you are going to the show, maybe we'll see you there. I'm not doing any signings or presentations or anything like that, but I will be there as a guest of Spector basses. I'll also be dropping by the Modulus, DR Strings, and Ampeg booths, so you might see me somewhere around there too.
"Also, in case you didn't see the announcement on HATE ETERNAL's site last month, I won't be playing bass on their upcoming tours. Although it would have been a lot of fun, we all knew from the beginning that I'd probably just do the studio session, and that's the way things turned out. It just seemed like there would be some serious schedule conflicts, so they decided to look for a bassist who could be fully dedicated to touring with them this year. Those guys are beginning a tour next week, so be sure to catch them if they come through your area. Also, their new album, 'Fury and Flames', will be released on February 20th, so check it out. It's a truly savage album, and I'm proud they let me be a part of it.
"In CANNIBAL news, we have started writing, and things are coming along well. We are hoping to enter the studio in September of this year, so that would mean our next album will be released sometime in 2009.
"As for BLOTTED SCIENCE [the instrumental extreme metal triumvirate featuring guitarist Ron Jarzombek (WATCHTOWER, SPASTIC INK, MARTY FRIEDMAN), Webster, and drummer Charlie Zeleny (BEHOLD...THE ARCTOPUS, JORDAN RUDESS)], we have been enjoying a very positive response to the release of our debut album, 'The Machinations of Dementia', and I'd like to say thank you to everybody out there who has bought the album or supported us in any way. A lot of people have been asking when and if we'll play live, and I still don't know the answer to that. If we ever did plan something it would be posted on BLOTTED's MySpace page, so check there for updates."

I don't think you quite understand. Cannibal Corpse knows exactly how far past the line they go, they do it on purpose. Being banned in other countries or being criticized for their disgusting album covers/lyrics is exactly what they are trying to do. The band is specifically trying to be the band that conservstives view as the stereotypical reason why Metal is bad. They revel in the negative attention, because evreyone is responding exactly so very predictably. I myself do not neccesarily listen to them en masse, they do have a few songs I like, but I am not the biggest fan. However, I completely understand where they come from. Dethklok has sort of the same attitude in the Metal world as Cannibal corpse, but more sterotypical and humorous.
Now playing: Shadows Fall- "The power of I and I"

No I an not. Sing about killing adults, but leave the kids out. I would rather listen to NSBM than Canibal Corpse and I hate racism! I think they got banned from other countries not for being metal. They got banned for just being bad people in general and think there is a differance between the two. You can be metal to the core, but be a decent human being with morals. Being hardcore (the attitude, not the metal subgenere) is about being strong in your self, your music and morals not just being against anything viewed by the majority as good. Hopefuly that makes sence. Not to make anyone hate Canibal Corpse, just giveing my opinion.

No, honestly what you just said makes absolutely no sense. So you would rather listen to a racist band who truly believes in what they preach than a death metal band that purposely makes absurd songs about cuming blood and hammer smashed faces because they talk about killing children? Are you serious? I mean a band with the name of Cannibal Corpse with a singer named Corpsegrinder really take themselves seriously and truly do advocate abortions and punching baby fetuses (total sarcasm). By the way, how the f*** can you hate racism and then say that you like nazi black metal bands? Thats ridiculously hypocritical.

CC is much like old CoF songs used to be, tongue in cheek. Hell, even Venom wasn't serious about their Satan worship on their albums. These bands just sing about these kind of things, NSBM bands actually believe and LIVE OUT the things they sing about. If death metal bands were literal. . .there wouldn't be many DM fans out there still alive or DM bands in existence.

I am not saying I like nsbm or listen to any nsbm bands. I am known to check the nsbm site before I buy a bm album to make sure they are not on the nsbm site and check lyrics. If I HAD to choose is what I ment. Love metal would have been a better one to use as I do see your point. Let me put it in more simplified terms... Your home is the country. You invite someone into your "country" and said person (not related to you by the way) starts talking about things you are moraly against in vulgar ways. What would you then do? My head was not clear in my last post as I was very hungry after an extremly odd day at work. My appoligies if I confused. Now makeing sence?

Well, seeing how I live in America, I'm agnostic, am a firm believer in evolution, pro equal rights for all, do not support the war in Iraq or the ideals of the Republican Party, and I'm pro state funded schooling and medicine, am against censorship of any kind (so I don't support Hillary or many of the members of the Democratic Party); I am pretty much offended by vulgarity on a daily basis. If thats the analogy you wish to use that would be the response but it doesn't pertain to the argument at hand about Cannibal Corpse. I mean, I don't see Cannibal Corpse being shoved down your throat. No one is forcing you to listen to CC, and if you're saying you support metal and artistic freedom it's pretty much bullsh** to call out one band because you simply don't like lyrics about killing babies or children. I mean thats like saying "oh i support freedom of choice, but you can't choose this because it offends me". I understand that you may be offended by the lyrics of this band, and thats fine and dandy, but it's pretty weird to be cool about killing adults but then you go to children and you cross the line. Murder is murder either way.

Its an analogy as to why I think they got banned from other countries. Some countries are not exactly all about freedom. As I said before just giveing my opinion. I never said that I was being forced to listen to C.C either. Also when it comes to killing adults its very different as an adult is atleast big enough (on avrage) to try to defend themself, a child is not. I know murder is murder trust me, however the degree and nature of the crime is what I look at. People have had to murder out of self defence and between adults its survival of the strongest.

f***ing moron. its music, they can do what they want. they're death metal legends. when have they sang about killing babys; besides having "butchered at birth" as their album cover and name. its people like you who get their album work and cds banned from stores and sh** lol.
It is music once again, and if somone wants to write about skullf***ing a kid, let them. As long as the music is good :D

ive never really understood these guys. maybe its because eating babies and rapping women with knifes doesnt appeal to me, maybe because its impossible to hear a distinctive riff out of every song they have made which leads to me thinking that even i could turn my guitar up as lound as i can. down tune so that my stings are somewhere near my knees and just beat the sh** out of it and i would be producing music to a canibal corpse standard. I understand that they are like gods of death metal but to me i prefer the sweedish melodic sh** like Dark Traquillity and Arch Enemy. These guys got to where they are out of talent, rather than using every shock method known to man like disgusting album art and lyrics that often make you question the state of the bands mind.

I can totally understand where you're coming from Kali, but I think we just have a case of misunderstanding here. Cannibal Corpse are kind of a mock band I think, that's not a slur on them in any way because bands with a sense of humour are what makes metal great along with like 99 other reasons, but the point is the titles and lyrics are just meant to be there so people can read it and go "What the hell? That's bizarre/disgusting/hilarious!". I'm not a fan per se but the music is pretty good. And hey, at least their titles aren't as bad as Anal c***s! To give you an idea on how much more offensive AC are than Cannibal Corpse, have a look at these titles:
You Were Pregnant So I Kicked You In The Stomach
I Became A Counseller So I Could Tell Rape Victims They Asked For It
I Sent Footage Of The Holocaust To America's Funniest Home Videos
Domestic Violence Is Really Really Funny
I Gave Your Kid AIDS So You Could Watch It Die
I Went Back In Time And Voted For Hitler
And that's just a sample. Much more offensive than CC I think you'll agree but neither bands titles are really meant to be taken seriously.
