Grammy nominees, AS I LAY DYING’s brand new video for “The Sound Of Truth,” the newest single off of their album, AN OCEAN BETWEEN US, will be debuted on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball over the next few weeks.
Directed by Brian Thompson, who helmed their futuristic clip for “Nothing Left,” the video for “The Sound Of Truth” was made at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, CA and is a continuation of the story the first video initiated. Like it's predecessor, the story for this video was conceived by the band, fine-tuned by Thompson, and displays the irony and hypocrisy that takes place in a decaying futuristic society.
A clip of the video will see its initial debut on headbangersblog.com on January 11th along with a special commentary from vocalist, Tim Lambesis. The video will air in full on the site on January 17th. The on-air debut will be on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball on January 19th.
The band is currently on the road with August Burns Red, Evergreen Terrace and Still Remains.

NoLabel i could not agree with you more. i saw AILD last october and their show was fvcking amazing. it's nice to finally see someone comment something that isn't "ah these guys aren't fvcking metal!" or "this nu-metal sh1t blows" but to just hear, "FVCK GENRES! these guys rock!" dope love, buddy, dope love.

AHAHHAHAHHAHAA to the argument above!!!! But seriously, I agree, AILD is NOT metalcore. They are more on the Thrash/Melodic Death metal side like comment #2 said. There's hardly anything "core" about them. And man do they know how to put on a crazy show, they are awesome live.

I my god, people here are actually trying to say that As I Lay Crying isn't metalcore. "they're playing far more melodic death metal and thrash", shut the f*** up, they're a goddam metalcore band, a screamo one too. Seriously if you want melodic death and thrash I'd suggest you check out The Absence.

i reke dislike the term metalcore because alot of those types of bands do have heavy songs but just add more melody to it, i dont think that makes them any less metal. its not like those types of bands are screamo or hardcore. im not even a fan of as i lay dying but there new is album is definitely metal. im glad that the whole "metalcore" scene kinda died out and some of those bands can just have the oppurtunity to become respectable metal bands.

but isnt "rock" a genre then? genres exist whether you like it or not. its how we like to catagorize music. metal is not a subgenre of rock and metalcore isnt a subgenre of either. get over it.
and aild is still metalcore and still not thrash on their new album. even if there's less "core" on their new album, there's still "core" on their new album and are therefore still metalcore.
now playing: pantera - out for blood

Genre's exist so when scene queens are surfing their favorite screamo bands myspace they can look at the other 2 millions bands that sound like them so they can then figure out what mediocre no talent band they can buy a three size to small shirt from.
but really everyone who says "genres are stupid" and "i hate lumping bands" are idiots. people judge people, people judge music. these bands wouldn't play this music if we weren't supposed to decide if we like it or not. Damn who the hell decided being metalcore was such a bad thing. There are some metalcore bands out there i think are relatively good. Regardless, if you think its good music and you like it. who the hell cares.
By the way i kinda liked the new album, you could tell they were trying to go in a new direction which i thought was pretty cool of them, but still i don't think it was so much metalcore as it was mediocre but A for effort.

I am just tired of hearing metalcore this, metalcore that. I listen to a band, I like it or not. Whatever the genre is, I could care less. Some people do miss on some great bands because they decided long ago that a certain king of genre is not good or crappy or old but I just listen to it and then make a judgement. But I admit to have been b****ing at new metal in the past...
